About Swaledale Yurts
This small, family run site is designed to offer a quiet and relaxing environment for guests looking to see all the wonders of the Yorkshire countryside. Plus the site's own private 30ft waterfall! For a slice of luxury in the Yorkshire Dales, treat yourself to a stay in a 19ft luxury Mongolian tent, set close to the river. Inside, these are fully furnished to sleep up to five and all bedding and towels are provided, plus a cosy burner to keep you warm. Camping guests are welcome on every yurt stay, with a pitch available alongside each yurt. There's also the site's bunkbarn, if the weather proves to be against you camping! Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Site facilities include clean and modern bathrooms with hot showers, and washing and clothes drying facilities. Guests have access to a dedicated campers' barn where food can be served. The private hot tub can be booked for a reasonable extra charge. Campfires are allowed and there are several fire pits available for you to use, plus firewood and marshmallows for sale.
Keld Lodge is just a 5 minute walk away and serves excellent food (pre-booking is advised).

These are 19ft glamping options with lockable front doors. Inside are real beds and a sofa bed to sleep up to five, with a cosy woodburning stove and a dining area. Camping pitches available alongside yurt.

Site rules and policies
We are a quiet site so do not allow music and ask for noise to be kept to a minimum after 10 pm.
Please note that the yurts are located on the banks of the River Swale so children must be supervised.
Check in for the yurts is from 3 pm however you are welcome to use the site facilities if you arrive before this time, while we finish preparing your yurt for you. Check out is 10.30 am.
Things to do on site and in the Richmond area
With your own private waterfall near the site, this is the place for wild swimming and relaxing in crystal clear waters. It's definitely an experience that belongs on your bucketlist!
This part of the Dales offers stunning opportunities for walking and mountain biking, not to mention driving along the scenic Buttertubs Pass. Nine Standards Rigg is north of the site and offers a challenging yet beautiful summit in the Pennine Hills.
The Dales Countryside Museum is in reach and makes a great morning activity for families, with fun steam train that kids can explore and exhibits detailing life in the Yorkshire Dales. A little beyond this, you'll be able to enjoy the stunning power of Aysgill Force and the lovely Wensleydale Valley, an unmissable stop for cheese fans.
