Great weekend again

Absolutely amazing little site. Short walk into Kirkby Moorside for shops and pubs, dog loves it. Will be back again with more next time.

Lovely site

Had a lovely 4 day stay here,the weather helped. A lovely site, although it didn't have toilet and shower but we had our own anyway. We didn't get to meet the owner as she was away,but communicated with me via txt with information and directions to the site. A nice touch on the pitch was a wallet with information and walks in the area.

Lovely stay

Lovely little site in a great location. Very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Ideal for touring the area. Nice walks locally too.

An absolute gem

We booked this site at the last minute and the owner could not have been more helpful. The site is perfect for a few days of peace and quiet. Only five pitches, all facing the open pasture with sheep and lambs in season. No toilet or showers, so suited to caravans and motorhomes. Walking distance to Kirkbymoorside with shops, bars etc. As others have said, Jayne could not be more welcoming. Fabulous place, where we will definitely return for a longer break.

Excellent stay

Excellent site with easy access to the village of Kirkbymoorside. Very quiet with lots of nice walks. Jayne is very welcoming and friendly and we will definitely be back in 2024.

A lovely little site in a great location

Lovely little stop for a short or long stay. Very friendly. Well kept. Lovely walks and an ideal distance to Kirbymoorside. Lovely set up for recycling and bins. Will definitely be back. Thanks so much.

Great-way to the moors

As the title says, this site is a great way to spend time on the edge of the charming village Of Kirkby Moorside. A great site run by a lovely lady. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely small, quiet site

Greeted by Jayne on arrival, we were able to choose which pitch we wanted. The site is kept immaculately clean with a range of bins for general waste and recycling. We chose the site as it was small (6 pitches) and had basic facilities (no toilet or showers). The only real noise was from the road leading out of the village which was immediately behind the site, but this was quiet at night so not a problem for us, as we were out during the day. Would definitely recommend and be returning in the future.

Camping stay

Arrived on site at bay 3 and unfortunately I could not help my husband put the awning up and this was our first time using a caravan after a number of years, thankfully, the lovely and helpful Jayne (site owner) offered to help and it was up in no time. Our 2 dogs loved it as they could just lay chilling on the grassed area watching the sheep. There is a Co-op and shops about a mile or so walking distance from site so it's perfect. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks Jayne for being so kind.

Gateway to the Moors Caravan Park

Despite not having toilet or shower facilities, this is an excellent little caravan park with a nice atmosphere and nice views of the sheep pasture. The site is well maintained and the owner is helpful and friendly. It is in a good location for visiting the Yorkshire Moors or the East Coast.

Lovely little site

Lovely little site, with a beautiful view across the fields, ideally placed for walking and within walking distance of Kirbymoorside. A little close to the road which was surprisingly busy at times, but the only time it disturbed us was in the morning, although we spent the majority of our stay out walking. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back.

Lovely little campsite

Lovely little site. Ended up staying 2 nights instead of 1. Jayne was really friendly and helpful. Very peaceful place and a nice walk into the village. Will definitely visit again. Thank you, Jayne.

Great campsite!

Great park! Steve met us and was super friendly. The location is excellent and all the facilities are perfect, even the early AM coffee bar! We will be back if ever in that area again...lots of bunnies and birds to watch too.

Peaceful

We’ve enjoyed our stay at the site and have been back a few times and will be back again in a couple of months. Only a small site but the welcome is lovely. I recommend Gateway to the Moors.

Peaceful, simple site

Basic site but in a nice location and an easy walk into Kirkbymoorside. Very much enjoyed the site for a 1 night stay.

Fabulous location will definitely book again

This was our first outing in our OPUS and we could not have picked a better site. It was easy to get to, super friendly and had everything we needed. Jayne was on hand and was lovely. With only 5 pitches it suited us down to the ground and we shall definitely be returning. Thank you!

Fantastic site

Warm welcome from the owner in tranquil surroundings. Within walking distance of shops and food with plenty of country walks. We will be going again soon!

Great little site, you know what you’re getting. Very helpful owner and fire puts provided on each pitch. Wood to buy on site. Would definitely go back
