Visiting Silverstone

The village of Silverstone is situated within Northamptonshire, but enjoys an international reputation. Petrolheads and those who appreciate high-speed action are sure to be drawn here, as the famous Silverstone Race Course is located close to the village.

Silverstone Race Course, once a WWII airfield,  is today home to the British Grand Prix and a whole host of other race events. Visitors can even get behind the wheel themselves and satisfy their need for speed with exciting driving experiences and track days. There are guided tours available of the legendary circuit, or you can hop in a Ferrari or Mercedes AMG to experience top sports cars.

Keen for rally training and exhilarating rally driving experiences? You'll find all you need at the Silverstone Rally School, which caters to kids as young as 11 years old up to adults. It's the kind of day out you'll never forget,  and can be tailored to families or individuals in search of adrenaline.

Looking for a relaxing place to enjoy some delicious food and a refreshing drink? The White Horse is the place to go. This 17th century coaching inn has welcomed many motor racing greats and is an ideal pit stop for sightseers who need to refuel in a real village pub.

It's not just all about motor racing however. Nature lovers will enjoy exploring the beautiful nearby ancient woodland site of Hazelborough Woods, filled with historic oaks and younger conifers. Burcote Wood and Whittlewood Forest are perfect in the spring, when eye-catching flowers line their floors.

Sightseers who are looking for nearby places to visit can explore the towns of Towcester and Brackley, while animal lovers are sure to enjoy a trip to Catanger Llamas. Sulgrave Manor as well as Stowe House and its beautiful gardens are also not far from Silverstone.

Whittlebury Park is home to the F1 Racing Fan Village.
