About the site
Family-run by a team who are passionate about camping and the environment, this site is based in North Chailey, not far from the historic town of Lewes. London is within an hour's journey by train and buzzing Brighton only 30 minutes away or Ashdown Forest even closer (15 minutes).
The site is set deep within the Sussex countryside, offering a tranquil stay surrounded by wildlife and nature. The slope in the middle of the field separates pitches into three distinct areas, which allows generous spacing and privacy.
It's perfect for families, offering spacious pitches and room to play in the meadow, with loads of games available to play, including a badminton/volleyball court, table tennis tables, an awesome rope swing, a cricket set, football goals, pétanque, light up frisbees and diablos, Kubb, Mölkky and Corn Hole!
As well as access to beautiful woodland, where den making is a popular activity. The site also has its own bluebell fairy wood.
Most pitches have a beautiful view over the surrounding woodlands, perfect to watch the sun go down with a drink and a campfire! The camp is dog friendly and takes a very environmentally friendly approach in all its facilities.
Beautiful bell tents are a hassle free option and these are minimally furnished with luxury air beds, clean sheets, rustic rugs, a door mat, bunting and lights. They're pre-erected in your desired location before you arrive to take the stress out of camping, whilst enjoying a luxury living space.
Chailey Common Nature Reserve is within a short walk - a Site of Specific Scientific Interest, and the South Downs National Park is close by also. With woodland surrounding much of the site, you can often see a range of fantastic birds and wildlife, including almost daily visits by deer.
The site offers outdoor yoga on a Saturday mornings, and often hold gong baths and singing circles too. Massages, reiki, reflexology, pellowah and Indian head massages are available onsite, with appointments booked to suit your plans.
Wood-fired pizzas can be enjoyed on Saturday evenings, and an artisan coffee van with pastries on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The site also holdd special events such as yoga retreats, star parties, Olympic games and wild medicine walks.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024
Gorgeous, low key. Really well maintained site with a great selection of add-ons.
Truly peaceful and calm little getaway in this gorgeous eco friendly campsite. The compost toilets were really well maintained and actually very cute with fairy lights etc. Lots of pot wash facilities, and the hot showers in lovely, little, clean wooden huts were a delight. Will was really helpful, friendly and laid back. Having the coffee truck and pizza truck is such a great touch.
Thank you all involved. Props to the girl who was helping with all of the cleaning and maintenance too!!
Great campsite, great location & eco friendly

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024
Great campsite. Was a packed out weekend with only 4 toilets and 2 showers, I would say was quite enough for a packed out site.
Not much space due to permanent bell tents and hilly site. Would have appreciated a noise check/wander noise went onto past midnight and didn't feel comfortable calling Will to report it. Loud guitar, music or possible microphone one night and shouting second night (the bottom of the hill by the toilets is an echo chamber) so any noise at all, can be heard way at the back on top of the hill.
Site's response
We're sorry it was so full when you stayed Jemma, but we always do a careful evaluation of numbers prior to every weekend to try and avoid over-crowding.
We did noise/toilet checks until 1am on Friday, but fell asleep around 10:30 when the noise levels were quieter. We really do request that you disturb us by ringing when noise levels are inconsiderate! Its the main reason why we stay on site as a family every weekend, and I feel we're quite clear about this. We are sorry this went wrong on Saturday, but it is an unusual occurrence.
We're also well aware of the amphitheatre acoustics also, and manage it as best we can.
We are usually in full control of our noise curfew of 10:30.
