Set on the Llŷn Peninsula, Gyrn Ddu Campsite offers a peaceful, back to basics stay for adults only. Just 15 minutes outside of Pwllheli, tent campers can pick between sea or mountain view non electric grass pitches, each nestled in a private mown out, car free area. Or opt for the cosy yurt for two! There is even a footpath providing direct access down to the beach. Campfires are also welcome for nights toasting marshmallows under starry skies!

About the site
With wonderful sea views to one side and mountains on the other, this site is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the scenic landscapes of the Llŷn Peninsula. For adults only, the site is ideal for those searching for a peaceful, back to basics stay with direct access via a path to the coast. There are just 15 pitches onsite, each located in its own private mown out area. All of the pitches are non electric and suitable for tents only, measuring 10m x 10m. Pitches are car free, but wheelbarrows are supplied for transporting your belongings from the car parking area. There is also a yurt onsite which sleeps up to two guests with a double bed (mattress protector, pillows and duvet are provided, but please bring your own linen and towels). Furnished with bedside tables with lamps and a dining table. Outside is a seating area and fire pit so you can enjoy evenings outside toasting marshmallows. The site is also a haven for visiting wildlife, including buzzards, birds of prey, rabbits and more. The area is also full of charming hidden coves and beaches, with Snowdonia National Park within a 15 minute drive too! For evenings under starry skies, campfires and BBQs are welcome so you can enjoy some traditional camping grub. Do note, this site is dog free. There is also a static caravan available for hire. This site is with The Greener Camping Club and at least one of your party must be a member. Membership costs £12 for the year and can be bought upon booking, giving you access to all membership sites.

Peaceful campsite in a great location. The pitches are private and spacious, we had fellow campers in the 2 pitches either side of us and didn't hear a thing. Toilets and showers were always clean and the water was always hot. And the firewood available to buy was really useful. The beach is a short walk away and well worth a visit. We had trips to Snowdon and Abersoch, and found this site a convenient location to get around from. Overall a great place to spend a few days, would definitely come again!

We had a fantastic stay, it really is a great campsite. The pitches were spacious and private, the facilities were clean and it was great to have a fire pit and bench. Really hand to be able to buy fire wood using a QR code too. Really lovely, easy walk to a beach. The only issue was the proximity to the main road, which is undeniably extremely noisy. However, the campsite itself was lovely and would recommend, just remember your ear plugs.
