Situated on the island of Anglesey, Ael y Garnedd provides breathtaking views over Snowdonia's mountains, whilst being just 20 minutes from the beach. The site offers both electric grass pitches and fully serviced hardstanding pitches, all of which are suitable for tourers and trailer tents. Surrounded by glorious countryside whilst being just off the A55, it makes an ideal base for getting out and exploring all that North Wales has to offer.

About the site


This family-friendly touring site in the Anglesey countryside puts you within easy reach of both the mountains and the seaside. Sit back, relax and marvel at the picturesque views or get out and enjoy days at the beach or adventuring through Snowdonia National Park. The site has 15 grass pitches, each of which comes with a 10 amp electric hook up. Each pitch welcomes up to six guests, suitable for trailer tents, caravans and tourers. There are also another 22 hardstanding pitches which have individual grass lawns, complete with 10 amp electric hook up, water hook up and chemical waste disposal. These pitches also take up to six people and allow trailer tents, caravans and tourers. Four-legged friends are also welcome, with up to two dogs allowed per pitch. There is also a large dog walking area at Traeth Benllech which is open for most of the year, perfect for stretching their paws! BBQs are welcome, so don't forget to pack your chef's apron. However, please note campfires are not permitted. Do note, the site is close to the A55 so there maybe some slight background road noise.

Lovely site, definitely follow their instructions on how to get there as postcode is way off. Small, clean site which is well cared for. Plenty of room for little ones to play.

Yes all of these are allowed. Awnings are permitted at no additional cost, pup tents and gazebos may be added for a small additional fee.

Guests are welcome to check-in between 3pm and 8pm. Check out is due by 11am on your final day.

BBQs are welcome though campfires are not, sorry.

Yes, four-legged friends are more than welcome, with up to two allowed per pitch. However please note, they must be kept on the lead at all times and not allowed in the facility blocks. Breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not allowed.

Sorry, hen and stag parties are not allowed.

Things to do on site and in the Gaerwen area

Guests should make sure to pop along to the Menai Suspension Bridge just five minutes away, with an impressive structure over the river between Anglesey and mainland Wales. From here you can also enjoy glorious views put over Bangor and the Menai Strait.

If you're looking to keep the whole family entertained, a trip to GreenWood Family Park (15 minutes) is the perfect choice. Find your way out of the dragon maze, take a ride on the rollercoaster or get wet on the enchanted river ride.

A great way to see the wonderful welsh landscapes in style is via a ride on the Llanberis Lake Railway. The narrow-gauge steam train takes you past lakes and mountains, with plenty of wildlife to spot along the way!

When the weather is warm, a day out at Traeth Benllech beach (20 minutes) is a must. The sandy shore is ideal for a spot of sunbathing, whilst the gentle blue waters are great for swimming.
