About the site
Located a 20 minute walk from the beautiful Porthtowan Beach, this site is ideal for a seaside getaway. For days out, it is only 20 minutes from Truro, Perranporth and the National Trust - Godrevy!
All pitches are spread across three level fields with modern facilities, including a wetsuit rinse area. Opt for old school camping with non-electric grass pitches or grass pitches with 10 amp electric hookups, suitable for all types of tents and tourers.
There are also premium hardstanding pitches for tourers only, complete with your water and waste point.
With an on-site games room and adventure play area, a tourist information office for exciting attractions nearby, and an on-site shop for all the essentials - the site has all you need!
During the off-peak months, a set of pitches are designated as adult-only and are the most tranquil in the park.

Porthtowan Tourist Park is open from 11/04 to 28/09 in 2025 and from 11/04 to 26/09 in 2026.
Site facilities include toilets and showers (with family shower rooms available), a dishwashing area, a laundry room and a wetsuit rinsing area. There is a small shop which is open daily, space for ball games and a games room, a picnic area and a dog exercise area.
Kids have access to an adventure playground with a climbing set and there are also ice packs available to hire. WiFi is provided and there is excellent mobile reception.
The Blue Bar is also within a mile serving excellent food with great views.

Grass pitches for tents with 10amp electric. Pitches are 10m x 10m - your tent, including guy ropes, car and any extras, must all fit within this pitch area. Maximum unit width 7 metres to ensure adequate fire safety gap between units.

What time is check-in/out at Porthtowan Tourist Park?
Guests are able to check-in from 1pm until 6pm, if you are going to be delayed. Check out is due before 11am on your last day.
Is Porthtowan Tourist Park dog friendly?
Yes, up to three well-behaved dogs are welcome per pitch for a small fee, there is even a fenced exercise area onsite! Please ensure that they are kept on the lead at all times and not left unattended. Please note that breeds and crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted.

Pack your swimmers, it's just a 20 minute walk to the nearest Blue Flag winning beach from the site. There's plenty of great surfing spots in the area too, and the bustling town of Truro is a 20 minute drive away.

BBQs are welcome as long as they are raised off of the ground, there are bricks available outside the shop. Sorry, open fires and fire pits are not permitted.

Yes, the site allows you to bring one of each for an additional charge. Please select this option when booking. Gazebo sides and ground sheets are not permitted and pup tents should be no larger than 2.5m x 1.5m.

Groups are welcome to book but please note that same sex groups of 3 or more are not permitted. Hen and stag parties are also not accepted.

Things to do on site and in the Porthtowan area
There is no shortage of things to do in the beautiful county of Cornwall, and the site is ideally located only 3 miles from the A3. It is home to a tourist information point so you can plan your days!
Porthtowan Beach is temptingly close to the site, with a lovely stretch of sand where you can relax as much as you like or try your hand at surfing.
The soft play area at Bombadingas is a great choice for families, and you can also book horse riding lessons in the area.
Just 4 miles away, you'll find Tehidy Park Golf Club, where you can work on your swing in lovely Cornish surroundings.
For something to do when the weather isn't on your side, pop to the cinemas in Redruth and Truro, or take the whole family to the swimming pool about 5 miles away at Carn Brea Leisure Centre.
Fishing and horse riding are available nearby too.
