About the site
Enjoy natural camping in a beautiful valley nestled below mountains beside Llyn Gwynant, with the river Afon Glaslyn running by. Iconic walking routes are accessible directly from the site, with the Watkin Path, PyG and Miners Track up Yr Wyddfa just a walk or short drive away. The lake is ideal for swimming or boating and is free for campers to use. Boat hire at the riverside offers canoes, kayaks Canadian canoes and paddleboards to rent by the hour. Or bring your own at no charge. We are ecologically advanced with state of the art off grid systems to make sure this lovely place is properly looked after, including advanced waste processing, solar arrays, water treatment, and conservation farming, tree planting and grazing. Pitches are available for vans along hedgerows and for tents near the lake or in green camping fields with parking nearby. Electric hook-ups are available on many pitches. We accept backpacker tents, tents with cars, small to medium sized campervans and cars or vans with roof tents, but not caravans or large trailer tents or motorhomes. Campfires are allowed on raised fire pits _ we provide these free or you may bring your own - but you must use wood bought on site. Raised barbecues are also permitted but not disposable ones. Dogs are welcome - a maximum of two dogs is permitted per booking and they must be on a lead at all times except in our woodland dog-walking area. Our campsite rules are taken seriously and include a strict rule of no music, quiet after 11pm and silence after midnight. We enforce our rules, they matter to us! Llyn Gwynant campsite is open in 2026 until 1 November. Pitches from £28/night for 2 people.
