A note from the site themselves...

Here at Moss Wood, caring for the environment has always been close to our hearts. Long before sustainability became a buzzword, we were doing our best to look after this special corner of Lancashire, and we're always finding ways to do better.

We work hard to reduce waste and use resources wisely. Rainwater is collected and reused where possible, and water and electricity use is carefully monitored so we can spot and fix problems quickly. Recycling is encouraged across the park, and we use recycled paper in the office.

Nature is at the centre of everything we do. Our hedges, trees and grassy areas are managed gently and at the right times of year to protect wildlife. We plant native species to support birds, insects and, especially, pollinators like bumblebees. We even take part in monthly bee surveys to help national conservation work.

We're proud to have received several sustainability awards over the years and to be part of the Green Tourism scheme. Just as important to us is getting guests involved, through our nature trail, wildlife activities and our much-loved annual Wild Day. Together, we can enjoy Moss Wood while helping it thrive for years to come, Neil
