A note from the site themselves...

Our site is located on our working farm, Terawhiti Farm, which has been in our family for over 100 years. It is a small, traditional, family run farm but very diverse in what we produce.

The winter months are spent yielding all sorts of vegetables including cauliflower, kale, cabbages, sprouts, celeriac, pumpkins, chard and pumpkins. In the summer, we have fresh strawberries and broccoli and the autumn brings pumpkin patch weekends. All this is always interspersed with the fattening of our hundred strong beef herd.

Since 1940 something, and throughout the generations, our farm has been welcoming people to stay on the South Devon campsite and many will return year after year. We hope you become a regular soon, Anita

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Brilliant campsite. Really enjoyed our weekend. Spacious clean toilets. Nice showers. HUGE pitches. Loads of room for us with the van, awning and windbreak. Still had space to spare. Not an over packed grills at all.

Amazing holiday

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Me and my girlfriend had 6 nights here and we both said it was one of our best holidays. The toilets were cleaned everyday and the showers were always available, even over a busy bank holiday weekend. All the beaches that are near by are beautiful. It really was an amazing holiday.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

South Devon Camping has a great site within short walking distance of the sea. In the night-time you can gaze up into the dark skies and watch satellites crawl overhead, gaze in wonder at the Milky Way and spot star constellations. You can hear waves crashing on the nearby beach and owls hooting in the woods. You can light your own fire, fire pits provided should you need one. The campsite owners have written a great guide to things to do in the local area. The campsite facilities are fine, there are long drop toilets, pay per shower showers, fridges and freezers, electric points for charging devices, waste recycling and drinking water available. There's a mobile pizza van on-site every Thursday evening. The lanes from the main road are very narrow and twisty which sometimes felt stressful - but many routes around were similar - not for the feint hearted. We enjoyed visits to Salcombe, Kingsbridge - boot fair Sunday morning, Totnes - good charity shops and independent cafés and Dartmouth. We also went to Dittisham and took the ferry across the river to visit Greenway - Agatha Christie's home, and visited the delightful art deco house Carleton Fishacre. We had a sauna on Blackpool Sands. There's heaps to do all round. I would definitely recommend the site to other campers.
