I recently had a lovely stay at this accommodation for New Year’s Eve and couldn’t be more pleased. The facilities were top-notch, offering everything I could possibly need, including plenty of fire wood! It was clean and well-maintained, which made my experience even better. The location is another highlight, just a quick 10-minute drive from Lyme Regis, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back :)

Shepherd's Hut - Oak Shepherds HutOct 2024
Where to start?
We were only there for 2 nights. We stayed in the Oak Hut and were blown away by the high standard of this beautiful little hut, set in a stunning forest, which you could explore at your leisure. Everything was just perfect. From the beautiful surroundings, to the little touches inside the hut. A lot of care and attention has gone into the hut. Everything we needed for a perfect stay was there.
We did worry that we wouldn't have any cooking facilities and somewhere to store cold items, but we needn't have, as there was a small plug in hob, saucepans and frying pan, cooking utensils and a small fridge, all stored neatly away in a cupboard. There was also a dinner service, cups, teapot and coffee pot. Towels were also provided. There was 2 packs of biscuits and 2 chocolates, which was a lovely touch.
Everything was spotless and of a very high standard. The outside was, again, absolutely perfect. A picnic bench, a firepit, a BBQ and coals all there if you wanted a bit of outside cooking (weather permitting, of course) logs were in abundance for the log burner and the firepit.
We did use the log burner the first day we were there, but to be honest, we didn't need to as there was an electric heater there which would have been enough. It was just so cosy to have, as the weather was quite miserable.
We phoned John on arrival just to see where we had to go, he was very friendly and polite, and wished us a happy stay. Well John, we certainly did, so much so that we were extremely sad to leave.
We are definitely going to go back in the spring or summer so that hopefully we can enjoy the outside surroundings more. We highly recommend this little piece of heaven. No Wi-Fi, no television, just a radio and a good book.
