Really enjoyed our stay with Hawthorne cottage caravan site. It was very peaceful, spotless clean, hot shower, and Bev was a super star helping me to use chock lifts for first time. We will definitely be returning!

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesMar 2026

Wonderful little site, with everything you need for a holiday. Great communication and directions prior to arrival. Host made us very welcome and was on hand all day if needed, but without interfering, so able to relax and enjoy our stay. Bream woods walk directly off site to walk and exercise our dog. Visited Forest of Dean sculpture trail and Mallard Pike, both a short drive away. Lots of other great places to visit nearby but had not booked a long enough stay to visit them all. I have nothing negative to say as site was superb, we will definitely be back.

A note from the site themselves...

My father in-law had the vision in 1984, having many years prior to this turned a derelict house into the family home where my husband grew up.

He wanted others to be able to enjoy the beautiful setting, peace and quiet this site holds. He started out with just five grass pitches but soon expanded to ten hardstandings with electric. I took over in 2020, after spending 35 years working in education with emotionally and behaviourally disadvantaged teenage boys! This was a complete career change!

I manage the site on my own, but seeing the pleasure people get from staying with us and the Forest of Dean makes it all worthwhile.
