About the site


A rural 170-acre campsite backed by grassy dunes and overlooking a secluded sandy beach, just ten minutes from Godrevy and Hayle. The site is ideal for explorers, adventure goers, families and couples, with direct access to the South West Coast Path and St Ives Bay. With an onsite surf school personalised to your abilities and taught by qualified instructors, plus a range of private lessons, you're sure to make lasting memories and enjoy an exhilarating time riding the waves. Tents, campervans and smaller motorhomes can choose from non electric grass pitches in small, standard, supersized and beach-view options. Glampers can opt for two-person beach pods, equipped with a king bed or two singles plus bunk beds (bedding provided), a small kitchen area for making tea and coffee, crockery and rechargeable lanterns. Outside is a picnic bench, table and chairs. Family-sized pods are also available, featuring either two singles or a super king bed (bedding provided), a small kitchen area for tea and coffee, a small gas hob, cosy log burner, crockery and rechargeable lanterns. Outside, enjoy a picnic bench, table and chairs. Expect wildlife, a beachside cafe for coffee and treats, a handy shop, and calming yoga sessions held along the sandy shores or in the onsite yoga yurt. Up to three dogs are welcome onsite. Please ensure they are kept on their leads. Raised campfires are welcome. Sorry, campfires are prohibited.

Facilities include six toilets, four hot showers (not power showers), a freezer for ice packs, and a washing up area with cold water. The site can charge laptops and small power packs for a small fee. A small onsite shop stocks camping essentials and there's a cafe a few minutes' walk from the beach, serving coffee, homemade cakes, light lunches, and more. It is open daily from 10am-5pm.

Next to the cafe is the site's 'Sandy Acres Surf School', where guests can learn how to surf with qualified instructors in small groups. The site offers a range of lessons tailored to your ability, including one or two hour group/private group lessons, as well as bespoke surf packages (prices start from £45). A ten percent discount is applied for campers/glampers.

You can hire surfboards and wetsuits from the site either for 2.5 hours or the whole day. Equipment collection is beside the cafe and is open from 9am-4:30pm. There are surf clubs for ladies, kids, and men (includes all tuition, wetsuit, soft top surfboard and rash vest), as well as a swim club on Sundays.

Yoga sessions occur either on the beach or in the wooden yoga hut onsite on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. All ages and abilities are welcome, and prices start from £8. Please bring your own equipment, if not, the site can provide.

*Check-in for glamping is from 4pm. Please check out by 10am on your last day.

*Due to the sensitive nature of the site, open fires/pits, and buckets are prohibited.

*Raised BBQs are allowed here, however, these must be put out once food has been cooked. During periods of extended dry weather, the site may prohibit BBQs.

*Please note, the site does not accommodate 6m bell tents or big motorhomes.

*The super pitches are not larger pitches for multiple tents.

*Group bookings are prohibited unless by prior arrangement.

*Dogs must be kept on their leads at all times.

*When the campsite is at capacity, there have been periods without hot water. This has only happened twice, but it is worth bearing in mind.

*Please be aware that the road leading to the campsite is an unmade track and can get rather bumpy during periods of bad weather.

* Gates are locked at 10pm and reopened at 7am.

*No pre-recorded music or generators at any time.

*There's a noise policy between 10pm-7am.


Things to do on site and in the Hayle area

If you came for the beach, you certainly won't be disappointed, St Ives Bay is in very easy walking distance and has a full 6 miles of pure golden sand for you to enjoy. Neighbouring Gwithians Towans Beach is another star attraction.

In the bright blue waters of the bay the site offers surfing lessons from well trained instructors, so bring your board and get ready to ride the waves. It doesn't end there, you can make a splash with stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking or a boat trip which will take you to meet the local seals.

How about a spot of coasteering? Or see how far can you explore on the South West Coast Path, fuelled by its unmissable views. From pony trekking to wildlife spotting, there really is no end to the amount of fun in the sun you can have here.
