Whether you're exploring the Dales or the Lakes, Little Acre Camping is ideal - only a 15 minute drive from both. Relax in the tent here and take the pooch for a stroll by the peaceful Lancaster Canal (just adjacent to site) or hop on a convenient bus to Kendal or Kirkby Lonsdale (both 15 minutes away). Just across the road, about a five minute walk away is the popular dog friendly Crooklands Hotel, with a bar and very good food served all day.

Really enjoyed our stay here. I'm not a camper and took some convincing to even book anywhere, but after our weekend here I'd happily camp again! Really friendly hosts, clean and warm facilities (a definite essential for me!) and the field wasn't overcrowded so we had plenty of space on our pitch. We booked dinner at the nearby pub one night and it was just a 2 minute walk away so very handy. Easy access to the towpath too for a walk - we went for a little meander and ended up taking a short narrowboat ride, which was unexpected but lovely. Great for families too, and nice and quiet at night (apart from the nearby Scout jamboree, but that was a one off!). Thank you, I'm sure we'll be back!

Beautiful site, really well maintained. Paul and Sarah are a lovely couple. Showers, toilets and washroom really nice and clean. Only 30 mins from Windermere, will definitely stay there again.

The family that run the site are so nice and were so welcoming to us when we arrived, and even helped us find a few walks while we were there. Great people were surrounding us and although you might have to drive 30 minutes to get some good walks in, the site was great value for money.

This was our first time camping and we could not have picked a better site. Lots of room for each tent, not over crowded. Paul was so helpful and made us feel welcome as we arrived. We have booked to go again, great for the dog as dogs stay on leads so an extended lead is great. Only wish there were 2 toilets together, this would would be better but not a problem. We had a lovely time for our first camping experience. Definitely would recommend.

I found Little Acres to be perfect for my needs. The owner was very friendly and helpful, the site itself wasn't too busy so had enough room and privacy, the location was very nice with views across the fields and easy access to the main road. There is a good pub just a minute's walk away.

A lovely, small and well-maintained campsite. The owner is very pleasant and approachable and is always seen around the site. Shower and toilet block are very clean. A good location for exploring the Kendal district or south lakes. Would recommend a stay a Little Acre.

Nice site and lovely owners. Needs shower block to be updated on the tent field. Very noisy road adjacent to the site. This can be very scary at times as this is a main road with big wagons and artics using it all night.

Hello Susan Thank you for leaving the review. We completely agree that the loo and shower block that is closest to the tent field need modernising (there is another larger and better equipped loo/shower block onsite that anyone onsite is welcome to use) - and the good news is that we've recently gained planning permission to add a brand new and much larger loo/shower and laundry block, which will hopefully be up and running for the start of the 2023 season. Until then, I'll carry on keeping the existing block clean and fully stocked. The road that is closest to the tent field is a B road and vehicles need to go very slowly/come to a halt to negotiate the narrow canal bridge. At times the road can seem quite busy (at other times, it's very quiet!), especially when the local farmers are doing their haytiming - but we've never heard it being described as scary! Hopefully we'll be able to host you again in the future. Paul & Sarah

Very impressive site, with really good, clean facilities. Would highly recommend. We enjoyed it so much we have booked to go back in a few weeks. The owner was very helpful & friendly.

Last minute booking for a couple of established campers & a couple of virgin campers. The location was lovely, if a little noisy by the road but it didn't keep any of us awake at night. The canal walk was peaceful & picturesque, rewarded by a pub lunch at The Crooklands Hotel which I can highly recommend. The host at Little Acre was very approachable & friendly without being intrusive. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely site and very friendly, helpful and accommodating owners. The site really needs more facilities though, particularly toilets and showers. We would definitely go back though and would recommend it.

Hi James. Thank you for the review and we'd love to have you come back again ! We have 2 shower and loo blocks onsite, with the much larger block being further way from where you were pitched up (naturally !). We've just got planning permission for a new & expanded shower, loo and laundry block, which will be ideally placed for campers. Once the 2022 season finishes, we'll be cracking on. Fingers crossed, it should be in place for the start of the 2023 season. Paul

Site was brilliant, I had a top two nights. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Facilities were great, would definitely recommend to anybody looking to stay in the area.

Very homely campsite and very welcoming. Spotless facilities. Very well maintained and organised. A little bit noisy from traffic in the tent field but otherwise very relaxing.

Was our first camping holiday with our dogs. Very warm and welcoming hoist. Spacious tent pitches. Ideal location for dogs. The toilets for the camping side would be much better if they were the same size as the caravan ones but other than that everything is spot on. Highly recommend and will be returning!

First time staying at this lovely little campsite and really enjoyed our 2 night stay, so much so we have booked to stay again in 2 weeks. Pizza on Friday night is a fantastic bonus and very tasty. Country Fest was on, which made for a very enjoyable Saturday morning, then we had a lovely walk along the canal to watch Hutton Roof Crags Fell Race. Sunny weather made the weekend even more enjoyable. Looking forward to our next stay already.

We only stayed one night to test a new tent but the site was perfect. Greeted by friendly owners and shown to our pitch with clear instructions, lovely site, very clean and lovely atmosphere. We will be back!
