Great campsite

Lovely, peaceful campsite. Perfect setting for a break away from the noise 😊 Great facilities. Lovely, clean showers and wash area and a great little well stocked shop. Was even a little hut with books and games! All the stay, everyone we met went out of their way to be helpful.

Caravan stay

Excellent place to stay, very clean and tidy lovely pitches and lovely shower block excellent location highly recommend

Fabulous location

What a fabulous location, we have had a great stay on a tent pitch which are all gravel and grass, surrounded by trees to protect from the wind and super peaceful. The communal facilities are clean and modern with absolutely everything you could need. Adults only but very dog friendly. And they offer pizza 'take-away' nights, delivered fish and chips and delish Sunday morning butties delivered directly to your door. But the staff add that extra magic. All are helpful and cheerful, nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back

Lovely site

Lovely quiet, adult only site. Great facilities for dogs, including dog field and wet room. Great facilities, which were clean and friendly staff.

Our Peak District adventure

Very nice site, just what we needed. Very quiet, clean and in a good location. We even had a sauna! You can order Fish and Chips and Indian and they will deliver. You can borrow books and games, play pool and darts and there is a small gym. We will return one day!

Very friendly staff

Would be good to warn travellers about the state of the local roads, need the massive potholes repairing asap.

Thank you for your review, I am glad that you found the staff to be friendly. I agree with you that the pot holes this year do seem to be particularly bad, but this is the responsibility of the local council rather than ourselves. I would fully encourage anyone to report problems with the roads to them.

Lovely site

This site is unbelievable, it was so clean, staff were so helpful and lovely. Will definitely be stopping here again, so peaceful.

Would stay again but

Great adult only site. However, it felt slightly repressive as the restrictions were a bit too heavy. I won't go into detail as I would stay again for sure, but I think the site need to think about their clients as a human who wants to get away from life/the world/rules and regulations. Maybe take the 'no dogs allowed sign" off the shop door and/or the toilet door for starters, just saying. But we had a great trip in a great location, and were great campsite hosts, just a few tweaks to make, or not as the case may be. All said with love.

The rules that we have in place are the reason that a large section of our client base come here. People like our adult only policy and see it as a something a little different, and it gives them at better chance at tranquillity. Equally, people come here for the quiet, which we enforce with a no noise policy. I am sorry you felt this is repressive, but we feel we put an offering forward in a consistent manner which some like and come here for, and if this isn't what people want, they can choose to go somewhere more appropriate. Looking specifically at some of our dog policies that you mention, we are dog lovers, and feel with our 4 acre dog walk and dog wash we provide some great facilities. However, not all of our clients are and we feel the need to take them in to consideration as well, particularly in communal spaces. Also, there is a hygiene element with places that serve food, which is why most supermarkets don't allow dogs in. I hope this answers some of your queries.

longnor wood caravan park

A fantastic adults only caravan park, with an excellent toilet and shower block. Very helpful and courteous staff and a great quiet camp site. A1+++

Fab, friendly spot with all the amenities you could need!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Longnor. Beautiful, quiet spot. Friendly helpful service, clean shower/amenity block and functional little area for dishwashing - kettle, toaster etc! The vending machine is also a bonus for those late night cravings 😂 Thanks for having us, we'll be back!

Lovely and quiet

Great place for relaxing and forgetting about the rest of the world. The only criticism I will give is that if the reception/ shop was manned during the opening hours, I would have been more likely to visit the shop as I felt uncomfortable ringing the phone number provided.

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you found the site to be relaxing. There are a huge amount of jobs that need to be completed on the site on a daily basis, and it isn't always possible to have someone in the reception / shop. There are also times of the year where is just doesn't make commercial sense to have someone sat there. We are always more than happy to come back when called though.

Excellent stay

We found Longnor by chance as our weekend of sport had been cancelled. A fantastic location with so much to see and do. The site is very clean and it is a peaceful location. We will be back.

Clean and tidy site

Lovely site in a beautiful location. Wi-Fi not very strong, keeps dipping in and out. Also, not the site's fault, but local taxis to say Buxton are about £30 each way.

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you found the site to be clean and tidy. As a knock on of our rural location, we have had to get a satellite link rather than it coming up the phone line. Sometimes this can dip a bit with the weather. Yes, it would be much better if we had a cheap local taxi.

Fabulous site

First time here and would certainly go back. Staff were really helpful. Facilities excellent and really clean and well kept. Really good to have an enclosed dog walking area.

Fantastic site

Lovely park in a beautiful location. Greeted by friendly, helpful young lady who showed us to our pitch. We were invited to stay later (complimentary) as our pitch wasn't being used the next night! Due to other commitments, we were unable to take advantage of this kind offer. We will definitely return here for a longer stay. Thank you.

Lovely site

Lovely site. Very quiet and friendly. Staff are really helpful and there is a very handy shop on site, as the site is quite secluded.

Lovely site!

Fantastic site with lots of amenities including a dog shower room. Everything was nicely spaced out. The toilets and showers were all clean and had plenty of space in cubicles. Only drawback was the area rather than the campsite - we didn't research properly before booking and struggled to find well signposted dog walks around the area once we'd left the site. I'd recommend looking at your activities before you come.

Thank you for this great review. I am glad that you had everything you needed and found it spacious and clean. Generally the sign posting for walks in the Peak District isn't great, but there are lots of websites and apps to find routes.

Would stay again

Only downside is there are no pubs/takeaways within walking distance! But the park itself is lovely, was quiet but we did go in October. Clean facilities, nice that the shower block has heating on and isn't cold! Would come back.

Thank you for your review. Longnor does have a pub and a fish and chip shop, but I guess that walking distance is quite subjective. It is a shame you weren't here on the Thursday before or after your stay, as we had a pizza van come up to the site. I am glad that you found our facilities to be clean. The peaks

Lovely site, very clean. Shower and toilet blocks were warm, clean and modern. Nice and quiet, will be staying here again.

Fab

Amazing place to camp. Great for dogs. My dog loved the enclosed dog exercise field. And the toilets/showers are immaculate. Friendly staff too.

Immaculate and friendly

Fantastic site and pitch, beautiful loos! Secure dog field is perfect. Very friendly welcome and super helpful. We booked this site as its adults only, peaceful and near to Chatsworth as we had booked for the County Fair. We will definitely be visiting again.
