About the site
Set high above Ullswater in the heart of the Lake District, this award-winning, eco-friendly site is a peaceful place to relax and explore. Surrounded by fells, it's a great base for adventures, with beautiful views and walking routes right from the doorstep, including the popular Ullswater Way. The camping pods are great for a simple stay, sleeping up to four people. These insulated timber pods come with an electric heater, light and plug socket inside, plus a small outdoor deck for cooking. There are also smaller dog-friendly pods for up to two people. Guests will need to bring their own beds, bedding and camping gear, with shared facilities just a short walk away. Onsite, you will also find camping and touring pitches along with additional glamping options, including cosy burrows and cabins. The site is well set up with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Modern washrooms include a toilet, shower and hand basin, and there's free WiFi available across the park for planning your day trips. The handy camper's kitchen is perfect for preparing meals, with kettles, toasters, microwaves, fridges, freezers and even spare plates and cutlery. When it's time to eat and relax, guests can enjoy the cosy onsite bar, dating back hundreds of years, complete with a warming log fire. There's also a popular takeaway serving tasty treats like wood-fired pizzas, crêpes and breakfast rolls! Eco living is at the heart of everything here. The site works hard to reduce waste and protect the environment, with a zero-waste shop selling everyday essentials and local goodies without plastic packaging. Guests are encouraged to refill bottles with free chilled water, and many products come in reusable containers. For evenings outdoors, BBQs are welcome as long as they are raised safely off the ground. Fire pits and open flames aren't allowed. Dogs are welcome on the pitches and in the pet friendly glamping units, so four-legged friends can join in the adventure too (with a doggy wash for muddy paws!).
