About the site

The site is in a peaceful woodland valley surrounding a clear, spring-fed lake where guests can enjoy fishing, wild swimming and boating. It includes 20 acres of woodland full of ferns, bluebells, oak and meadowsweet creating a truly special atmosphere whether you choose to stay in the tipis or camp. The Meadow is the main camping area, offering non electric grass tent, campervan and caravan pitches, each allowing up to six people. This area is also home to the wedding marquee so is ideal for more festival-style camping as music can sometimes be heard until late, with the cafe also nearby. If you are wanting more peace and quiet, opt for one of the almost wild pitches. Located away from the main area, these pitches are great for those wanting to be immersed in nature. For those who prefer glamping, enjoy a stay in one of the sites North American style tipis. All come equipped with the basics, including groundsheets, warm rugs, and fairy lights. Guests will need to bring their own bedding and airbed or camping mattress if they want to be extra comfy. Tipis in the Village Field are left plain inside for you to add a nice comfy airbed or similar for your tipi adventure. When it comes to the Private Site tipis, you'll get your own camping mats, camp stove and cool box. Kitchen essentials are also included. The medium tipi will sleep two adults or two adults and up to two young children. The large tipis will sleep four to five adults comfortably and four to six if at least one is a child. Private site tipis have their own area bordered by trees and hedges, though they are sometimes quite close to others. For authentic camping evenings under the stars, campfires and BBQs are both welcome. You can also grab a bite to eat at the onsite cafe (seasonal opening times), with drinks available too! Please note, the site is dog free.

Cornish Tipi Holidays is open from 11/04 to 08/10 in 2025 and from 27/03 to 30/09 in 2026. Pitches from £50/night for 2 people.

Large Tent - Large Wild Camping Pitches (Family)Jul 2025

What a gorgeous campsite. We had so much space in our large-tent private site, which was ringed by a mix of trees and some woven wood fencing. Since moving to the UK, I'd been missing having a campfire, so the fire ring was perfect. The former slate quarry lake was the highlight of the place, with clear water & freely available lifejackets and small craft plus a solid dock. Our kids woke up every morning excited to take a "nature walk" where we'd say hello to the resident wandering peacocks, chickens, and dozens of bunnies. The café is fantastic with a daily small selection of meals that are advertised around the site. I highly recommend going for a private campsite like we did, but the teepees have plenty of room too. But just as important is the nature of the crowd the campground attracts - there was no swearing, fighting, or any of the stuff that seems to go on at the more mainstream holiday parks. We'll be back next year! The kids didn't love the compost toilets, but I had far worse latrines at summer camp growing up, and it's a good solution for the rural site.

Small Tent - Large Wild Camping PitchesSep 2024

Well, we were challenged by the weather. Great service and welcome from the staff. Food was great at the kitchen. Showers and toilets were fine but not of a high standard.

Large Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Meadow)Aug 2024

22 acres of rustic and rural camping which was perfect for us. If wild camping is your thing then this is the place. Facilities are basic with compostable toilets and solar showers but it all adds to the rural experience! There is a meadow for pitching or for a more secluded camp there are plenty of little private pitches all tucked away in the woodland. The staff were fantastic and on arrival helped us out and showed us around. The lake is stunning and there were plenty of families with children. As a couple, we wanted our own space and quiet which was lovely in our little spot under the trees. Lots of wildlife and animals scurrying around. Not far from Port Isaac, Tintagel and Boscastle. If you love the outdoors and bit more of a wild camping experience then this is the place. We will definitely stay again.

Thank you so very much for your top rating 5 out of 5 - we also really appreciate your detailed description of the campsite and it's location & amenities - but we just wanted to say there are flushing loo blocks and regular showers too! We are indeed really close to the lovely fishing village of Port Isaac, famous beauty spots Tintagel (with it's historic castle) & Boscastle, plus premier surfing beach Polzeath, with Daymer Bay, Rock & Padstow (think cycle trails & Rick Stein's fish & chips!) all nearby too. We'll really look forward to seeing your family here again!
