About the site

If you're looking for a peaceful base for exploring south Cornwall, this family-friendly camping and touring site could be the perfect spot. Just five minutes outside the charming fishing village of Mevagissey, this 1.75-acre site offers an idyllic quiet retreat, still within easy reach of the coast. Tents and tourers are welcome across the site's two non electric and 25 electric grass pitches. There are also two extra large electric grass pitches available, measuring either 21m x 11m or 18m x 17m, great for those wanting plenty of space to spread out and set up their table and chairs. Tourers can also opt to stay on one of the site's two electric hardstanding pitches. All of the hook ups are 10 amp, so make sure not to forget your travel kettle for a morning brew! The pitches are spread across the level, beautifully manicured site, each allowing up to six guests. Pitches are well spaced apart to ensure everyone can enjoy some much needed relaxation and quiet. BBQs are welcome as long as they are off the ground, so don't forget to pick up some nice sausages on your way. However, please note campfires are not permitted. Four-legged friends are welcome here too, with a maximum of two allowed per pitch. The site is also surrounded by great dog walks and there's plenty of space onsite for them to stretch their legs.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the campsite. The site was immaculate and our pitch was huge. The toilet and shower block were spotless and everything of a high standard. Richard, the owner, was very helpful and gave us recommendations and tips for a lovely holiday. The campsite was quite close to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and we walked there across fields and through lovely woods. It was a beautiful walk. Be careful if using a sat nav - it sent us down through Mevagissey in a 7.5m motorhome - not a very enjoyable experience. Apartment from this it was wonderful.

Things to do on site and in the St Austell area

A must-visit when staying here is a visit to The Lost Gardens Heligan which is just a five minute drive or a wonderful woodland walk away. The wonderful 200 acre gardens are full of twists and turns, with exotic plant life and beautiful flowers.

For days out at the beach, you will be spoilt for choice. Pentewan Beach is just a ten minute drive away with a fine shingle shoreline and beautiful calm waters, ideal for swimming. Other beaches in the area include Hemmick Beach (10 minutes) and Porthpean Beach (15 minutes).

The Eden Project is also just a 25 minute drive from the site. The eco-park has unique biomes full of tropical gardens, replicating different environments from all across the globe.

For some family fun, Lappa Valley (35 minutes) is full of plenty of attractions to keep everyone busy. Take a ride on the steam railway, take a pedalo out on the lake or compete again one another at a game of adventure golf.
