About the site
A great spot for a peaceful getaway, this relaxed family friendly site is located near some of the Lake District's most popular attractions. You will be within 15 minutes of Lake Windermere, Lakeland Motor Museum and Lakes Aquarium. For tents, roof tents and campervans, there is a range of grass pitches to choose from. The sizes range from 2.5m x 3m to 5m x 7m, with some including an optional 16 amp electric hook up. You can even opt for one of the premium pitches that include your own private picnic bench and fire pit, perfect for toasting marshmallows. Campervans also have the option of a 3m x 5m electric gravel pitch if you would prefer a hardstanding base. For those looking to go glamping, the site offers a selection of mini lodge pods and yurts. The mini lodges sleep up to two with a double bed, bedding, heating and electric. You will also find your own private compact kitchen cabin just outside. This comes equipped with a food prep area, a cooking stove, kettle, fridge/freezer and all the cooking equipment you will need. There is a picnic bench, fire pit and BBQ for evenings outdoors, along with one of the pods offering a wood-fired hot tub! There are also four spacious 18ft yurts available, each sleeping up to six in a double bed and four single futons, all with bedding provided. Inside, you'll have cosy furnishings including blankets, storage and a wood-burning fire with an oven, hot plate and a double gas hob for cooking. Outside, you'll have the welcome addition of your own private Scandinavian wood-fired hot tub, as well as a BBQ and al fresco dining area. Shared shower and toilet facilities can also be found nearby. A maximum of two dogs are welcome on all the pitches and in each of the pods and pet friendly yurts, just please keep them on the lead. The site offers fire pits to borrow (deposit required), with kindling and wood available to purchase. BBQs are permitted too, just please ensure they are raised from the ground.
