About the site

Just off the A66, this family run farm in the Lake District National Park offers a peaceful base for hikers or anyone wanting to slow down and escape the everyday. Keep an eye out for the site's sheep, cows, chickens and ducks for a charming farmyard feel. Choose from non electric grass tent pitches or park your tourer on one of the fully serviced hardstanding gravel pitches. Measuring 9m by 9m, they have 10 or 16 amp hook ups, drainage, water and space for an awning. Most pitches also enjoy views overlooking Blencathra. Prefer a slower pace? Leave the hiking boots behind and wander to Threlkeld, a 25 minute walk away, where two country pubs serve local ales and Cumbrian food. There are also gentle walks and cycle routes around the valley for exploring at a more leisurely pace. Penrith is 20 minutes away, with Junction 40 of the M6 making it easy to reach further destinations. Up to two dogs are welcome per pitch. Raised BBQs are allowed, and you can pick up something tasty from the onsite honesty farm shop!

Open from 1 March to 31 October.
