About the site


The secluded working farm site is in the hamlet of Layer Marney and a five minute drive from Tiptree village. Guests can delve into their adventurous side with forest floor pitches or spacious grass pitches for tents. Up to six guests are allowed per pitch. Guests are welcome to bring an awning or gazebo on the grass pitches, but please note, these are not permitted on the forest floor pitches. For a more luxurious stay, there are two glamping pods onsite, sleeping up to two people. Accompanied by outdoor furniture, including a fire pit and BBQ, it is the ideal set-up for al fresco dining and sunset watching. The pods feature a double sofa bed, a kitchenette with cooking equipment, a TV, and heating. Bed linen, duvet, pillows, and towels are not included. Shared facilities are available. The camping field is vehicle-free, so children can safely play and roam. There is a dedicated parking area nearby. Stunning Mersea Island is 20 minutes away, a lovely beachfront welcoming four-legged friends and a great day out for families. Fire pits are permitted, and BBQs are allowed. One dog is permitted per pitch, and two per camping pod.

Guests have access to a unisex toilet and shower block as well as a spacious washing up area. The camping pods also have access to the shared facilities.

There's a fishing lake onsite, with guest fishing available upon request. Firewood and charcoal are available for purchase.

Tiptree village is located within a ten minute drive of supermarkets such as Tesco Superstore and Asda. Pubs and eateries can also be found here.
