VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Oct 2024
After booking a weekend break, we arrived late Friday night to our site. The owners came out to greet us and show us where we could pitch.
In the morning, we woke to a pleasant campsite which was lovely, clean and very quiet. The owner came out and said we could pitch anywhere we wanted and mentioned loads of different walks for us and our dog. The facilities were lovely and clean, and lovely, hot, decent showers.
I would highly recommend this place and we can not wait to go back next year. Fabulous hosts.
Nice location, very handy for Eden Project, but facilities were only adequate

Motorhome - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Oct 2024
We stayed overnight between visits to Eden Project, and the campsite is very handy for that, and in a very nice setting.
We didn't arrive until late afternoon, and we left again fairly early due to commitments. The owner was very pleasant and directed us to the most convenient pitch, next to the wash facilities etc (it is out of season and so very quiet). He explained that only one of the showers was working as the heating had been turned off, and I presume therefore the middle one with an electric shower in that he seemed to direct us to was the one to use. However, the electric shower did not work, and the other showers were freezing cold. Also, the lights in the shower block are on a sensor which is outside the shower cubicle, so whilst trying to sort the shower I was plunged into darkness. I was cold and it was wet outside so I went back and showered in the van and couldn't face the idea of going out in the rain again to make the owner aware. I didn't find a chemical toilet disposal area, but it wasn't a priority so perhaps I just didn't look hard enough, but it certainly wasn't clear on the building if there was one.
Given the cost per night, with electric hook-up charged extra, and particularly in comparison to a very similar type of site we are in tonight where the facilities, whilst still fairly basic, are a step-up and cheaper with electric hook-up and Wi-Fi included, I feel overall quite disappointed with the site.
Site's response
The electric shower was working. He just needed to pull the switch outside the shower room, as told to him by myself. Why go for a shower in the cold when you have one in your motorhome. (My comment he should have stayed at a Travel lodge)
Lovely hidden away gem
Recommends site

A lovely little site, situated close to lakeside walks and the village. Mark, the owner, was welcoming and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
