A great night at moss farm campsite. We were greeted upon arrival and got to pick our pitch. Set up camp and took advantage of the provided fire pit. My partner and I really enjoyed walking around the farm looking at all the animals.

I had such a lovely stay on this working farm. The owners were so friendly and welcoming, which made the experience feel really personal. I especially loved seeing the animals roaming around—it gave the place so much charm and character. It’s a proper working farm, so it’s not pristine, but that’s exactly what makes it feel so authentic and down-to-earth. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful—perfect for a relaxing countryside break. I’d definitely recommend.

Just what we wanted. We stayed up at the top which had a lovely view and gave the wilder feeling we like. Highly recommend.

A lovely little campsite if you are wanting peace and quiet and no kids! The owners are very friendly and welcoming! Facilities are basic but I love the farm vibe with all the animals, there are horses, sheep, cows, ducks and chickens! We had a great time and met some lovely people, definitely will be back as there are also only about 15 pitches so perfect size for what we want.

Great overnight stay at the campsite. Really good location just outside of Coniston. Very quiet site - all you could hear was silence and nature. Very relaxing night after a long hike in the day. Will be back.

Myself and my partner love hiking in the lakes and were looking for somewhere close to our next adventure. This is a lovely little campsite. It's a working farm with sheep, cows, chickens, ducks and a cockerel alarm clock as the sun rises. The farm dogs were lovely and enjoyed playing fetch. This campsite is rustic with everything you need, a nice hot shower with a changing area. Clean toilets and an area for pot wash. There were two fields and we stayed by the railway pods they offer (we didn't see inside these but they looked cool!) The main field is towards the back of the farm, there is a lovely view from both. Really great that it's open all year round. Lovely owners who greet you, leave you to your own devices but are always available. You can walk to the local village of Broughton on Furness in 30 minutes and there is a direct straight line route out the back of the farm. It is the most quaint village with a post office, bakery, delicatessen and gorgeous pubs. We really recommend the Old Kings head, really good service, a fire and delicious food. We hiked 3 Wainwrights in a day, Brim Fell, Dow Cragg and Old Man of Coniston and it was an easy 20 minute drive from the campsite to the Walna Scar car park. Decent value for money for what you get and in comparison to what others are charging, it's fair and reasonable. Highly recommend Moss Side Farm and we will be back soon. Thank you!

A really nice couple running a traditional farm campsite. We stayed in our campervan and even thought the weather was a bit harsh we had a good time. On the last night, we moved into one of the "railway" huts which has a wood burning stove and that was a great experience as well. I would suggest these huts for anyone staying over more than a couple of days. We are planning on returning as its a good centre for hiking all over the Lake District.

Really friendly and accommodating campsite owner. We were later arriving as M6 closed and we needed to register for the Windermere swim event first. Owner was fine about us leaving at 5am the next morning to get to the event.

Enjoyed our stay. Good view from pitch. Unfortunately, there was a power cut during our stay so shower block was unlit and shower cold. Lovely host, thanks Louise!

Really enjoyed our short break at Moss Side. We stayed in one of the rail cars, which was very well equipped and cosy - would definitely recommend this. Louise, the owner, was friendly and helpful, and we loved the numerous animals roaming around (goats, fancy chickens, border collies, and the horses in the field next door). Setting is beautiful, atmosphere relaxed (thanks to the lack of screaming children). Will definitely return.

Working farm and facilities in converted farm buildings (and not a lot of conversion) but completely clean and usable. Great views and Broughton village lovely, with great butcher, shop and bakery! Great little spot and would use again. Try it!

Lovely campsite with character. Have extra sausage ready for 3 gorgeous terriers who will sit and watch you cook! Site is not too big, not too crowded. Ground is flat and we had no trouble driving in and out on a very wet week. Beautiful surroundings. Get ready to meet friendly dogs, ducks, goats and lambs who will roam around, and visit the pigs in a woody pen nearby too!

A lovely camping area with great views located within a working farm, it has a compact amenities area comprised of a good toilet block, shower block washing up area and drinking water. Ideally located between Broughton and Coniston, it provides you with the means to pick up anything you may have forgotten to take with you on your camping trip, and also easy access to the Western Lake District and coast and it's many activities, whether it be walking or sightseeing. I will certainly be visiting again and next time may leave the tent at home and use one of the camping huts that are in the field adjacent to the tenting area. The amenities are between the two, as they appeal to the lazy streak in me in that I can leave my tent at home. I fully recommend you try it for yourselves. By creating this great little campsite on their working farm they share with you an ideal location for exploring the Western Lake District and coast.

Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it! We were really surprised how quiet it was given the fact it was a Saturday night. The location is perfect, the views are lovely and it had everything we needed. We loved the fact it was on a farm, it was lovely to see the lambs and goats running around. One thing to bear in mind with it being a farm is being woken up by the cockerel! (Which didn’t bother me really!). I would definitely stay here again, thank you Louise for a great stay.

It's about a 40 minute walk from a cute village and really lovely walks surrounding. Small dogs off lead and surrounded by horses.
