About the site

Ideally located on the edge of the Peak District, in the village of Chelmorton, the park is also just a short drive from the market town of Bakewell and spa town of Buxton. Valuing quality over quantity, this small site is home to just 16 touring pitches. Each one is spacious and surrounded by stunning landscaping for the dual win of privacy and pretty colour. There are four different pitch types to choose from, sleeping between four and six people. Onsite you will find a 7m x 4m non electric grass pitch for camapervans only. There are also just two 3m x 9m non electric hardstanding pitches for small campervans only and two small 4m x 7m electric hardstanding pitches for small campervans only. Then there are seven 5m x 9.5 fully serviced hardstanding pitches with electric, water hook up and drainage, suitable for a caravan, awning and a car. Finally, there are four 9m x 6m large fully serviced hardstanding pitches with electric, water and drainage which allow larger motorhomes. This friendly park is the perfect place to seek your own space and settle for a little while. A maximum of three dogs are welcome per pitch, just please keep them on the lead unless in the enclosed exercise field. Campfires are not permitted.

The modern facilities building has well maintained showers and toilets, with accessible bathroom facilities, baby changing and appliances such as hair dryers. There is also a lounge area and an equipped communal kitchen with a washing up area, a hob, a microwave, a washing machine, a smart TV, and a fridge/freezer. Bike storage is available on request, and there is also a bike wash.

Guests will have access to free WiFi, and EV charging is available in the car park. For dogs, there's an off-lead exercise paddock.

Single Axle Caravan - Large Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesDec 2025

Farditch Farm is beautifully laid out with neat and tidy pitches, surrounded by manicured flower beds and shrubs. The views are lovely and the accompanying holiday cottages were in keeping with the rural landscape, well maintained and I assume similar inside. I was on a fully serviced large pitch which had allowed room for an awning, water and waste water on 'tap'. The peg holding for the awning wasn't great, as the pegs pulled out despite having every variety of rock pegs! However, it was on a very windy corner and eventually the awning had to come down! The showers were sizable, immaculate and hot and there was an adjoining kitchen and communal room (which I didn't use) to the same standard. I travelled alone with 3 Labradors (I had family staying in Castleton but unfortunately the Castleton site was full) - the dog area again was clean, enclosed and met my needs. For those who want peace and quiet on a site, it should be mentioned that the main road runs along the perimeter of the site and there is a lot of road noise. It didn't particularly affect me because I was out a lot, but in summer it would put me off sitting outside my caravan I think. A minor point which caught me out was the site signage. The sign seen as you approach refers to holiday cottages (there is another sign on the other side of the entrance for caravans, but not obvious on first approach), my satnav was suggesting the entrance was further up the road and I went too far! I called the site and was given instructions but for anyone who makes the same mistake, there is a crossroads further up the road which allowed me to turn around, phew! I would have appreciated some sort of contact with the site owners as the site was virtually empty and although I've towed a caravan for 12 years and don't usually need help, it was the festive season and until another caravan arrived it was very quiet, not what I'd expected! There is a lot to recommend this site and a lot of effort goes into keeping it tip top!

A note from the site themselves...

Farditch Farm is a family run site and has been born from our farming roots.

Our farming involves traditional grass fed Pedigree Angus and our Texel cross sheep are reared in sync with the surrounding environment. We like to think the Caravan Park has the same ethos. It's a relaxed affair but has top notch facilities that we are really proud of.

The environment is important to us, as you would expect from our green beginnings, we have solar panels on our shed of which the surplus we store for use on site!

We may not be visible on site all the time or be there to welcome you as we have the stock to tend to but we are always monitoring it and contactable. We love that guests want to come and stay on our site to enjoy the area that we live and work in everyday.

Farditch Farm is a perfect base for discovering all the numerous nearby walks and has the benefit of a village pub for food and refreshments after a long day's activity. The location is also excellent for cyclists with many beautiful trails nearby including the Tissington Trail and Monsal Trail.

You'll find rural rambles on the miles and miles of trails that run across the Peak District National Park, and can sample the puddings in Bakewell and taking the waters in the spa town of Buxton.

Just a short drive away, you can visit Chatsworth House, its farm shop and gardens and the prestigious Church Inn is less than a mile away.
