About the site

Run by a friendly team who love camping themselves, Masons has all the right ingredients for a great stay. It's just a short five minute stroll from the local village of Appletreewick and is based in the southern Dales. There are two camping fields to choose from, each offering something for a great stay. The Main Field can accommodate tents, caravans, motorhomes, and campervans with pitches of different sizes to suit your unit, setup, and requirements. All pitches come with electric hook-ups as standard, and some fully serviced pitches also include water and grey waste points. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Yorkshire Dales and easy access to the river. River Field, available during the summer months, is ideal for tents and small campervans only. Pitches run along the banks of the River Wharfe, offering a scenic riverside setting, with many pitches featuring electric hook-ups and a few non-electric options. There's a large open area for outdoor games, perfect for children to run and play, and some pitches set slightly back from the river while still enjoying the rolling hill views of the Yorkshire Dales. Both fields offer stunning scenery and a memorable camping experience in the heart of the Dales. For those seeking comfort, there are a few glamping options, including the luxury river yurts with a dressed bed, day bed, fully equipped outdoor kitchen, log burner, outdoor decking, canopy, and an outdoor fire pit for cosy evenings by the river. The garden yurts offer a double bed, a day bed, warm furnishings, and a log stove, plus an outdoor kitchen area under a canopy and an outdoor fire pit for dining or relaxing outdoors. Even more spacious and ideal for families are the two safari tents, each with a charming veranda and furnished space to sleep six. All glamping options come with the essentials to cook or enjoy a hot drink, making them perfect for a relaxing stay in nature without compromising on comfort. There are also vintage airstreams onsite, too. Bring your furry friends! Dogs are welcome everywhere on site, provided they are kept on a lead.

Site facilities include a heated facilities block with free showers and toilets - with accessible and baby changing facilities also included. There is a well stocked shop within a vintage Airstream, which sells essentials for your trip, along with groceries, meat, and other camping essentials.

The site has a coin operated launderette with a washer and dryer, a washing up area, and a communal freezer.

The Mason's Kitchen serves delicious barista coffee, scrummy ice creams and milkshakes, buttery pastries, breakfast options, sandwiches, and hand-stretched woodfired pizzas. Masons' River and the River Wharfe are ideal for paddling and fishing, plus there is a rope swing and ball games area. Free WiFi is available too.

In Appletreewick village, just a five minute walk away, there are two country pubs which both serve food.

Site rules and policies

For camping and touring, check in is from 1pm and check out is 11am.

For glamping, check in is from 3pm and check out is 10am.

*No music to be played at any time through amplified electronic devices.

*5mph max driving speed on site

*Quiet time 11pm till 7am

*No open fires, fire pits are available to hire but you are not allowed to bring your own

*Disposable BBQs allowed but must be raised

*No generators allowed

*Dogs must be kept on leads

*Visitors allowed but all parking and overnight guests must be paid for at the office

*No groups of teenagers or young adults allowed without attendance of a responsible parent of guardian

Things to do on site and in the Skipton area

Head downstream from the site and you'll find a fantastic wild swimming spot, accessed directly from site. The river also provides a lovely place for kids to play and paddle (under your watchful eye) and you might even catch a fish to cook on the fire pit once the sun goes down.

Set under twinkling lights, there is also a boules court in the courtyard where the whole family can enjoy a game together.

Don't miss the majestic shape of nearby Bolton Abbey - an incredible sight at sundown, and the views of Simon's Seat from the village will be enough to turn anyone into a walker. A good thing, too, because the Dales are rife with biking and walking routes.

Families can enjoy a day out at Hesketh Farm, a working farm with animal-feeding areas, playgrounds, and a cafe for a tasty treat. Don't forget to stop off at Billy Bob's Parlour, a 20 minute drive with an incredible ice cream parlour!
