A summertime pop-up campsite, Penrose is open in August only and makes the perfect getaway for the summer holidays. It's a Cornish base in walking distance of Porthleven, 10 minutes from the beach and only 5 mins from the South West Coast Path.
About Penrose Campsite
Fancy camping by the coast? Penrose's pitches are spread across two fields, sheltered by Cornish hedges and offering easy access to walks around the Penrose Estate. The site is part of a working farm and is managed along with another Porthleven site, Treza. Cattle graze around you, the sunsets are magical and yet all you need is also on hand. Hit the waves or build a sandcastle and sleep easy at this well located base. Pitch sizes are unrestricted, so it's easy to pick where you'd like to get settled and spread out. There's no electric, but there are sea views and convenient facillities.
Open from 1 August to 31 August
The site offers two toilet and shower blocks with free hot water. There is no electricity on site.
Fishing is available in the area and it's only 10 minutes on foot to the nearest sandy beach. Within the village there are restaurant, pubs, takeaways and a supermarket.

Things to do on site and in the Helston area
Just a few minutes away is the tempting coastal footpath, which will take walkers to some of the most beautiful parts of the South West.
There are also walking and cycling routes around the farm and Loe Pool, which make it easy to do some exploring. Of course, a walk on the beach at sunset is a lovely end to any day.
Expert surfers love this part of Cornwall and the sandy beach is great for sunbathing or family games.
