Nestled in a quiet valley in South East Cornwall, Botelet is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Pitch a tent in the wildflower meadow, or sleep close to nature in a yurt. The yurt is set in its own peaceful orchard, while campers pitch their tent or van in a meadow amidst the grasses and wild flowers - a peaceful experience with up to six campers at a time.

About the site

Staying in a yurt or camping at Botelet is a peaceful experience. The yurt is located on its own, a short walk from the shared facilities at the main farm buildings, while up to six people can camp in a wildflower meadow. Choose where you pitch your tent, you'll be surrounded by nature with plenty of space! The yurt is suitable for adults only, sleeping two people in a double bed. Families are welcome to camp in the meadow. Therapeutic massage is offered from a treatment room in the farmhouse - the perfect way to unwind after a day out exploring. Botelet Farm has been the home of the Tamblyn family for the past 150 years and three generations still live here today. Staying at Botelet gives a simple and unusual glimpse into the living history of the farm.

The camping meadow and yurt is open from Easter until late September.

Yurters and campers have access to a shared loo, shower, and fridge/freezer, while WiFi is accessible near to the main farm buildings, a short walk across the fields. Breakfast can be booked in the farmhouse - delicious, continental-style and healthy with lots of local and home-made ingredients. Therapeutic massage is available in a dedicated treatment room.

Site rules and policies

The yurt sleeps two people in one double bed. Unfortunately the yurt is not suitable for young children.

Families are welcome in the camping meadow.

Dogs are not permitted on the campsite or in the yurt.

Things to do on site and in the Liskeard area

Step out across the fields at Botelet and take a picnic up to Bury Down iron age hill fort to take in the panoramic views and watch the sun set. Explore the deciduous woodland and retreat back home for a therapeutic massage with an on-site therapist in a dedicated treatment room.

Join the monthly Botelet Breakfast Club - enjoy a relaxed, vegetarian breakfast by the fire in the farmhouse on one Friday per month - the tastiest time in the calendar!

A couple of miles along the lanes from Botelet you will find Polmartin Riding School and Porfell Animal Land - a lovely visit for young families. Bicycles can be hired and delivered to you at Botelet, or you may wish to explore the creeks of the Fowey estuary by Canadian canoe.

The south Cornish coast is just six miles away, potter around the coastal towns of Fowey, Polperro and Looe, walk the coast path or take a dip in the sea from one of the little-known coves and beaches. The stunning sandy surfing beaches of the north coast are approximately 40 minutes drive away.

Botelet is located close to some stunning National Trust properties included Lanhydrock (15 mins) and Cotehele (35 mins). The site is half an hour from the Eden Project, and 45 minutes from the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
