About Polmanter Touring Park

A well established base, Polmanter has been a family affair for the past 50 years. It's run by those who love camping, for campers, and is a perfect 5 minute drive, or less than 2 miles from St Ives and its beaches. Access is easy thanks to the A30, a 10 minute drive from the park. Whether you're looking for all the best facilities or a back-to-nature stay, you'll find both here. Pitches range from a grass spot without electric for tents all the way to a fully serviced pitch on grass or hardstanding. If you're in the mood to treat yourself, why not book a stay in Polmanter's luxury self catering apartments, each sleeping up to four plus an infant in comfort.

The park is open from Easter until October.

Facilities and amenities

Site facilities include three award winning shower blocks with underfloor heating, free hair driers and plugs for shavers. These include family shower rooms and disabled suites. There is a heated outdoor pool on site (open mid May - mid Sept), beauty spa and the Stable Bar and Takeaway (open 5 nights per week from Easter, daily in peak times), with its own pizza oven. A doggie shower and tethering points are on hand for dogs. Reception includes a small shop selling essentials too.

Polmanter has a dedicated bus service to St Ives which runs every day in busy months.

Things to do on site and in the St Ives area

Brought Fido with you? Give him the best walkies he could ever hope for along 500 miles of glorious coastal path. Walkers can be in St Ives within a half hour thanks to an excellent foot path and from there you have access to the sandy Porthminster and Porthmeor Beaches, or Bamaluz which is a haven for dogs at any time of year.

St Ives itself is pretty and well worth exploring, with the Tate being a must for art fans and plenty of surf schools that will teach you how to ride the waves. Browse pretty and artisan shops, have a cream tea and soak up the atmosphere.

This part of Cornwall is also home to real gems like Land's End, Marazion Beach - looking out over St Michael's Mount - and the incredible views of the Minack Theatre.
