About the site

The site is set in one of the most beautiful valleys in the Lake District. Access to the hills and lakes of the area is easy, as it's all right on your doorstep. The nearby town of Keswick is only 20 minutes up the road and has all the shops and amenities you would expect to keep you busy. Derwentwater, with all its activity options is only a ten minute drive. The furnished yurts sleep up to five inside, on futon style beds (a double and two singles which can be pushed together) with bedding for four provided. An air bed for the fifth person can be provided. Please bring your own bedding. They include crockery and cooking equipment, gas hobs and a grill. They're spacious enough to walk around in and have a lovely skylight in the roof. All have access to shared toilets and showers nearby. Pets are allowed and can stay free of charge, but advance notice is required. BBQs must be raised off the ground.

Stayed for 4 nights in late October for hiking and relaxation - absolutely loved it!! 😀 The perfect escape from the stress of modern life. The yurt was clean and well-appointed, with a stove (2x rings & grill) and small wood-burning stove. Sawdust briquettes, firelighters & large gas canister provided, along with crockery, cutlery & cooking utensils. Also a BBQ & charcoal. Wooden door with Yale lock, so quite secure but don't leave valuables if out for long. Showers were a short walk away were very clean, water nice & hot. I had full phone signal (Giffgaff/O2) & there is a single usb port for charging, but don't go crazy as it also powers the lights! Location is superb for hiking & access to Keswick via regular (open-top!) bus service. Absolutely stunning scenery. I highly recommend the little café at Grange. Friendly service & excellent cake! Yew Tree pub up the road was cosy & welcoming, the food was incredible! Have the lamb duo. Just have it. Vegetarian? Just have it. Simon was very responsive & helpful via text whenever I had any questions. I'd recommend bringing a sleeping bag if night temp below about 15C. I was very glad of my heavy-duty earplugs during the night as the rain/wind on the canvas can be loud! Bring wellies & warm slippers. I was glad I'd brought a mini blow-torch for lighting the fire, as the matchbox provided was slightly too damp/worn to strike a match (can't be avoided in October). I will absolutely return at some point. Thanks Simon!! 😀

Fabulous yurt in a great location. We had a weekend of all weathers and so got the 'full experience'. Used both the fire pit and the log burner as went from fab sunshine to torrential rain, so go prepared. Also be prepared for a short walk to toilets and showers, Its a pretty walk though. The Yew Tree pub close by is excellent but make sure you book in. Communication from Simon was excellent.

Myself and my partner enjoyed 3 nights in a yurt at Seatoller Farm and overall it was a lovely and much needed break away from city life for us. The location is perfect for the start of many hikes or for relaxing in beautiful scenery. The yurts come with all cutlery, pots and pans, glasses etc that you need, along with bedding and cushions. We found the double futon to be very hard on our backs, so added the mattresses from the other futons available. It's worth nothing that the yurts are very close to each other, so not the best if you did want complete privacy and also that the toilets are a 2 minute walk (no lights in the dark). The shower block is a 3/4 minute walk away, but with nice hot water, much appreciated after our hike up Scafell! Both the toilets and showers are shared with all other campers (tents and yurts). I would highly recommend pre-ordering pizzas, which are made fresh every Saturday evening, and having this by the fire at your yurt - they were delicious!
