Whether you're exploring the Dales or the Lakes, Little Acre Camping is ideal - only a 15 minute drive from both. Relax in the tent here and take the pooch for a stroll by the peaceful Lancaster Canal (just adjacent to site) or hop on a convenient bus to Kendal or Kirkby Lonsdale (both just 7 miles away). Just across the road, about 100 metres away is the popular dog friendly Crooklands Hotel, with a bar and very good food served all day.

First time staying at this lovely little campsite and really enjoyed our 2 night stay, so much so we have booked to stay again in 2 weeks. Pizza on Friday night is a fantastic bonus and very tasty. Country Fest was on, which made for a very enjoyable Saturday morning, then we had a lovely walk along the canal to watch Hutton Roof Crags Fell Race. Sunny weather made the weekend even more enjoyable. Looking forward to our next stay already.

We only stayed one night to test a new tent but the site was perfect. Greeted by friendly owners and shown to our pitch with clear instructions, lovely site, very clean and lovely atmosphere. We will be back!

Lovely site and Paul the site owner was great too. It was clean and quiet after 10pm. I couldn't believe how good the WiFi on the site is either, kept my 14 year old happy!

What a little gem this site is, slap bang on the canal and the views are fantastic. The pizza van on Friday nights is ace and the owners and son were very welcoming. The facilities are perfect and it's a small perfect site. Will definitely stay again, thank you.

Excellent little site, friendly owners, clean facilities and great access to main roads into the lakes. 3 or 4 min walk to local pub with good selection of local ale.

Lovely little campsite that is conveniently located not far from the M6 and a short drive for the Lakes and Kendal etc. We stayed the weekend of the Crooklands country festival, which was a short walk away along the canal. The facilities are spotless and perfect for our needs. The owners are fantastic, very friendly and helpful and helped us out when we forgot our 240-110v adapter. We arrived on Friday night and they were doing stone baked pizzas to order. Great little campsite, dog friendly, kids had fun and would definitely recommend.

Booked to try out new tent, but loved the site. Paul was an extremely nice bloke and the site was very clean and tidy. Facilities small, but very clean & warm. Only stayed 2 nights but definitely going back. Right on the Lancaster canal & only just over 15 minutes to Kendal.

Me and my boyfriend stayed over the weekend, last minute spontaneous camping for our anniversary! We had the best time, Paul is lovely and extremely friendly. We had trouble with our tent the minute we arrived, to then realise it had broken (we should've checked it before putting it in the car๐)! Paul came over with some tape which was lovely of him! Safe to say we had to go and buy another tent๐๐ The showers are 20p for 3 minutes which we think is very good and the water was lovely and warm too! You can tell the owners go out of their way to help anyone and this campsite was just perfect for our first time camping together! We wanted to thank you in person, Paul, but we had to leave early hours of the morning as our tent just decided to give up because of the wind ๐ Highly recommend this place! Thank you for a lovely stay x

We stayed here with our 3 young children and had the best time! The staff are fantastic and very approachable/friendly. We made use of the local bus stop for a trip to Kendall which was beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained and the facilities are spot on. We would definitely recommend this site and will definitely be returning in the near future.

Cosy little campsite, Paul was a very welcoming owner. Clean facilities, grass kept short. Hot showers and a heated toilet/ shower room, plus a pub close by! It was perfect for me for the 5 nights.

The stay at the Little Acre was great, the hosts were always available and the whole place was very clean. Only small thing to be aware of is the tents are located close to the road, and the traffic can be heard at times. But it wouldn't stop me staying again. 5*

We really enjoyed our stay at Little Acre. Really warm welcome and exit. The site had a really homely feel and wasn't too busy. Great location just off the M6 and close to Kendal. The canal is right on the site and there's a lovely pub over the road. We will definitely be returning :)

Stayed here for 1 night for a practice run with my new tent. The host was absolutely lovely and very welcoming. The facilities were fine, nice and clean (and heated which was a blessing in March!). There is a lovely hotel/ bar across the road which serves amazing food and is dog friendly. My only gripe would be the noise from the surprisingly busy road.

We were booked in for 4 nights but unfortunately the weather had other ideas and we came home after 2. It's a lovely site but the field is on a slant. As we were the only tent, we picked the flattest bit to pitch on but would really want to be higher up the field. The downside is that it's quite close to a busy road which, on an evening/bedtime, could be quite loud but once you're asleep it's fine. We will be back though.

Hi Rachel, Thank you for the review and recommendation. Hopefully when you come back next time the weather will be kinder and you can enjoy a full stay ! The positive view (slant!) on the tentfield having a slope, is that the tentfield drains very quickly and never floods. The traffic noise is a funny/peculier thing, most of the time, most of the days it's not very noticeable, but because it is very quiet around here, once people have pitched up/settled in, it becomes more noticeable. Great site, close enough to always be near the toilets & showers. Nice & quiet. Lovely little touches like stones to put a BBQ on to keep the place looking great. Thereโs an Asda a short drive away, and a garage shop a short walk away which is pretty well stocked. Lovely walk along the canal side next to the site.

Brilliant and lovely little campsite with all the basic amenities. The campsite is child friendly and my little lad loved playing with all the other kids on the site. Very close to Windermere lake and all the attractions being a car drive away. Was great having a pop up pizza company come on the Friday evening! We'd book again!

Was here last week for a few nights. Fantastic little site. Owners very nice, Paul came up trumps. We forgot our dog stuff to tie them down. He borrowed us one which saved time finding shop. Great little walk off site. Dogs loved it.. We've been home few days. Going back tomorrow. Site clean and friendly atmosphere. Roll on tomorrow!
