Whether you're exploring the Dales or the Lakes, Little Acre Camping is ideal - only a 15 minute drive from both. Relax in the tent here and take the pooch for a stroll by the peaceful Lancaster Canal (just adjacent to site) or hop on a convenient bus to Kendal or Kirkby Lonsdale (both just 7 miles away). About Little Acre Camping

This camping base is family-run and offers a peaceful break in a rural setting. No need to worry about access with the car, however, as you're less than 2 miles from the M6 with the Lake District and beautiful Yorkshire Dales each very accessible. This is a nice stopping off point if you are on a long road trip, whether southbound or northbound. Tent pitches are spacious and the tent field is never overcrowded. All tents enjoy complimentary, fast and reliable WiFi and - if you book an electric pitch - you'll have 10-Amp electric too. You can meet the wildlife along the adjacent Lancaster Canal, which is home to ducks, swans, herons and more - perhaps even cattle paddling in the canal at times! The site is dog friendly with the canal towpath making a great place for Fido to stretch his legs or humans to have a wander and unwind. There is a shop in a 24hour petrol station and a bakery in the village of Endmoor - both are about 3/4 mile away and both are easily accessible on foot. Please note, the site does not allow guests under 12.

The site is open from 1st March until the third Sunday in November each year.

Facilities and amenities

There are two separate shower and toilet blocks available to campers. Showers require coins to operate. The nearest block has heated and unisex facilities with separate lockable entrances. Another heated block is available a little further away and provides facilities for both men and women. It also has hairdryers, hand dryers, and heated mirrors. Both blocks offer complimentary shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner of high quality. The campsite has reliable WiFi throughout the site.

The dog-friendly Crooklands Hotel is only a 100 metre walk over the canal bridge, offering a bar and all day menu. A 24 hour shop is half a mile away, and a popular bakery is available in Endmoor village, which is three-quarters of a mile away. You can easily get to these places on foot.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent PitchesMar 2024

What a lovely site Little Acre is. As told, the owners were lovely. The bathroom is modern and always clean. Very well ran site. The electric was powerful enough, but not as much as some sites we have been on and us having 16amps, but 10 was enough. Water was close by so didn't have to walk forever as it was just behind the pitch. There are facilities to wash up and even a washing machine. This site is the perfect place to come and have a relax, just sit and watch the world go by, or go for a walk down the canal. There are towns close by and a pub down the road - what more can you want? Only downside is the field isn't flat, but you can't do much about that! Thank you very much for a lovely stay - we will be back.

Site's response

Trailer Tent - Electric Grass Tent PitchesMar 2024

Really lovely little site. Brand new wash rooms are very luxurious. No fuss, no hassle, no noisy facilities, just peace and quiet in a fabulous part of the country. Bring a ground sheet as the new grass is soft. I've rebooked already.

Site's response

Hi Bob, thank you for reviewing us and for your rebooking. You're not joking about the grass being soft! Several months of soggy weather has made it so! In a usual season, we don't get campers in March, so it's something that's never affected anyone and now that we're into the (hopefully) better weather of April, the grass in the tent field will really start to flourish. See you again soon. Paul.
