About Mosedale End Farm Glamping Pod
Nestled on a charming working farm in the shadows of Carrock Fell, this modern and cosy pod offers the unique experience of working farm life with sheep herding experiences, lambs to greet in spring and breathtaking views of the surrounding Lake District landscapes - think tranquillity and dark skies! The pod is available for adults only, although there may be little ones onsite staying in the B&B. The pod features a comfortable double bed that is made up for your arrival, as well as a smart TV for cosying up in the evenings enjoying your favourite film or series. The pod has an open plan layout with a mini kitchen area if you're looking to self cater, here there is a microwave, a small fridge, a kettle, toaster as well as crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. There is a dining area inside for enjoying your meals and a sofa too. There is also free WiFi and electric sockets so you can stay connected throughout your stay. Towards the back of the pod is your ensuite, complete with a shower, toilet, sink and heated towel rail with towels provided - you will just need to bring along your toiletries. Outside of the pod is a picnic bench for dining al fresco and making the most of the countryside views and dark skies at night. There is the option to hire a gas BBQ during your visit too. Next to the pod is a small garden with a stream running through, the perfect soundtrack to your holiday. The site also offers a B&B in the main farm building so you may see other guests onsite. There are a range of extras available at an extra cost, including freshly prepared breakfast hampers delivered straight to your door, picnic hampers and delicious homemade cakes and sweet treats made by the owner. Guests are provided with a bag of corn for feeding the hens and guests are also able to help collect their eggs! This peaceful site truly provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and the experience of living on a working farm with wake up calls from the cockerel, bleats from the sheep and the sound of owls hooting at night. The farmer also offers guests the chance to try herding the sheep and meeting newborn lambs in spring. If you want to explore your surroundings, the town of Keswick is within a 20 minute drive and there are plenty of Wainwright's available on your doorstep so there's no need to take the car if you want to leave it behind! Head up Carrock Fell, Blencathra or wild swim in Bowscale Tarn. Sorry, no dogs due to the working farm location. There is a fire pit available to hire in a separate area but this is available on a first come first served basis with the B&B guests too, but you can add the gas BBQ to your booking if you want to cook some meals in the open.
Mosedale End Farm Glamping Pod is open from 03/01 to 31/10 in 2024 and all year round in 2025.
You'll have an ensuite bathroom with a toilet, shower, sink and heated towel rail, towels are provided too, you will need to bring your own toiletries. The pod has underfloor heating, electric sockets, lighting, WiFi, a smart TV and outdoor seating. The kitchenette has basic cooking supplies, such as a fridge, kettle, toaster, and microwave.
There is a BBQ available to hire and a firepit with a pizza oven available, but the fire pit availability is based on a first come first served basis as use is shared with the B and B guests too.
There is space for one car to be parked outside the pod, and electric vehicle charging is also available at the farm but do note that it is an untethered unit and guests will need to bring a charging cable.
Pick up some local produce from the farm shop just a ten minute drive away, or if you don't want the hassle of cooking and washing up then the Mill Inn is just a 30 minute walk from the site or a five minute drive.

The cabin/pod is located next to a farm down a long track. It's ideal if you're looking for somewhere quiet and not a park type place with several of these lumped together! Inside it was well kept and comfortable, everything worked. We also got a lovely complimentary home-made cake, and seeds so we could feed the chickens.

A comfortable pod with all the facilities you could want in beautiful and quiet valley. The bed was really comfy and the breakfast hamper is a brilliant idea, full of lovely tasty things. Great walks from the door and from Mungrisdale and the local pub Mill Inn is good for food. The pod is on a working farm and farmers do get up early! But it is generally quiet.

What a lovely place to spend a couple of nights chilling and experiencing a little bit of farm life for real. The pod is lovely and has everything you need. Great location for exploring the Lakeland fells.

Things to do on site and in the Penrith area
Set in a quieter corner of the Lake District, this site has plenty of activities and things to do nearby. Being at the foot of Carrock Fell, the site is perfect for keen walkers with the hike to the 931m peak of Skiddaw taking around three hours.
Carrock also has a rich mining history, and visitors can explore the main mine site at the top of the Swineside Valley, which takes approximately 40 minutes to walk to. From there, you can walk up onto the back of Carrock.
Take a boat trip across Ullswater and admire the views. Ullswater Steamers (30 minutes) have been offering cruises across the glorious lake since the 1900's with stop offs available all around the lake so you can hop on and off as you wish.
For those seeking a refreshing swim, Bowscale Tarn (15 minutes) offers wild swimming opportunities.
