There are just four fully furnished glamping pods, one of which also allows a dog to stay. Stay in the heart of the Lake District National Park and immerse yourself in nature. Lake Windermere is just six miles away.

About Kentmere Farm Pods
Potter along the stream and enjoy the rich wildlife of this glamping site, nestled away in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Watch the swallows swooping overhead and Wagtails bobbing by the River Kent and the pods are off grid, so it a great opportunity to truly escape the daily bustle. There are just four pods onsite, each sleeping up to four people in a double bed and double sofa bed, with all bedding and linen provided. They include an ensuite wet room with a shower head, toilet and sink. The compact kitchen is equipped with a microwave, fridge, kettle, sink and crockery with a small dining area to eat in. Outside is your own little patio with bistro seating and the option to hire your own Kadai fire pit for your stay. You'll have picturesque views over the valley right from your doorstep. You'll be staying on a working farm with bustling hens, White Faced Woodland sheep, Swaledale, a few rag-tag Herdwicks as well as a small herd of beautiful and gentle Highland cattle - perfect for animal lovers. The farm has very pretty traditional stone barns, a 1800's farmhouse and is spread across 500 acres with the River Kent flowing through. Staveley is just an easy ten minute drive (two miles) and has a number of cafes and shops waiting to be explored. With virtually no light pollution, on a clear night it is the perfect place to stargaze. All four pods are well equipped for walkers and bikers, with boot boxes ready for your muddy footwear and a shed to lock away your bike. Dogs are not permitted in three of the pods, however one of the pods does welcome one four-legged friend at an additional cost. Just please don't let them on the furniture.

There is an ensuite with a toilet and shower in each pod, and fire pits are available for hire should you wish.
For food shops there is a Spar just a five minute drive away, or a larger Sainsbury's and Morrisons 20 minutes away in Kendal. A ten minute drive will take you to Staveley village where there is a lovely cafe called Wild's as well as Kimi's Gelato. Watermill Inn and Brewery is also just a ten minute drive away.

Lovely little pods! Would highly recommend! More spacious than you think! We stayed in the Frostwick, which met all our needs. Nice comfy double bed, shower & toilet in one, little kitchen area with a microwave and fridge, seating area and decent L shaped sofa! We hired a fire pit and there were also BBQs to hire. The farm was lovely, we overlooked the sheep and cows / highland cow, it was so peaceful and not noisy at all! There is a lovely little walk down to the river too. The farm site location was perfect, 5 mins from Staveley village, about 15 mins from Kendal in one direction and 15 mins from Windermere in the other, which made it perfect for days out. We did the Craggy Woods walk, which is just out of the village. I couldn't fault the site at all. Only thing was the signal was poor until you got to the village but that's all part of camping!!

We stayed in the White Howe (dog friendly) pod. You would have never had known that it had been used by other doggos before, it was amazingly clean. The location was great, lots of nice little walks at your doorstep. This was ideal for our family walks and evening strolls. Having a toddler and young baby, I was at ease letting my little one run round as the field is secure and safe. The pod itself was fantastic, everything you need in the one space. We didn't expect to receive 4G but we were able to get reception. Overall our experience was brilliant, we will definitely be back. Thank you to Georgina for keeping us updated with relevant information before our stay.

My wife, kids and I visit every year. We absolutely love this place. The location is stunning and relaxing and the kids have a great time exploring. Short drive to Windermere and lots of walks with a great village near by. The pods are perfect with all the facilities you need. We will be back again next year (and the year after….)

Things to do on site and in the Kendal area
South Lakes has a huge amount on offer and you will find the site are close to the majority of the attractions and activities. If you are into water sports, you will find courses in sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding on Windermere (15 minutes), Coniston (40 minutes) and Ullswater (50 minutes). You can also catch a cruise if you just want relax and admire the view.
If climbing is your bag, you can boulder in the valley at Badger Rock, head out to Humphrey head near Coniston or climb indoors at the Climbing wall in Kendal (20 minutes). Footpaths abound in South Lakes. The best plan is to work in somewhere tasty to stop for lunch. There are lots of great pubs and cafes or buy some local specialities and enjoy a picnic.
There are plenty of National Trust properties nearby, including Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter (40 minutes), Sizergh Castle (20 minutes) and Levens Hall (20 minutes), famous for its extraordinary topiary garden.
You may like to visit Dove Cottage, home to William and Dorothy Wordsworth in Grasmere (35 minutes) or Brantwood in Coniston, home of John Ruskin, art critic and romantic poet (45 minutes).
