About Gowan Bank Farm

This spacious and extremely well equipped shepherd's hut is located on the edge of a traditional beef and sheep farm. If you're a couple looking for a romantic getaway or someone looking for a luxury base to explore the lakes, you've come to the right place. It's also ideal for nature lovers, walkers and cyclists. A warm welcome awaits you on your visit to the hut. You'll stay in total luxury with a comfortable king size bed, fully equipped kitchen with induction hob and full size oven, an ensuite, spacious dining area, and private outdoor seating to soak up the incredible scenery and spot the abundance of wildlife. You're not limited to hotter months either as the hut is well worth a visit in the autumn and winter months when the wood burning stove and sheep's wool insulation (or central heating if you prefer) ensure a warm and dry stay, whatever the weather. All bedding and towels are provided as well as a basket of logs. Sorry, no pets allowed.

Hut facilities include fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, oven, microwave, coffee machine and full size sink, a double shower room, sitting and dining area with TV, plentiful storage, WiFi and good 4G connection. Outside is a patio seating area.

A real ale pub, two cafes, shop and farm shop are within easy walking distance. Windermere, Bowness and Kendal are within a few minutes drive. A bus stop for the main bus route through the lakes (Kendal to Keswick) is half a mile.
