About South Allington House
This peaceful back-to-basics site enjoys a beautiful and tranquil rural setting within a hamlet, close to Salcombe on the South Devon coast. The manor house has four acres of stunning grounds and it's all run in harmony with the environment. You'll find plenty of friendly wildlife onsite - following RSPB advice, there are areas specially provided for wildlife and local birds. Badgers, foxes, horseshoe bats, ducklings, frogs and more make this their home. Surrounding the site, there are plenty of easily-accessible walking and cycling routes for guests, with the coastal path only 1.5 miles away. The small and sheltered campsite is family-run and popular with young families, who have been visiting for generations. Spacious grass pitches are available onsite, with easy access to well-sized facilities. For any friends and family not looking to camp, there are elegant en-suite B&B rooms within the main house.
South Allington House is open from 01/05 to 30/09.
The facilities block includes well-kept toilets, showers and washing up sinks. There are also a shared chest freezer, charging points and a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The Cricket Inn is a 10 minute drive away at Beesands or there's the Pigs Nose Inn at East Prawle, for delicious food and drink. At nearby Salcombe you'll find sailing, fishing and watersports, and there is a great golf course at Thurlestone, just 30 mins away.

We highly recommend this gorgeous campsite. The views were just amazing, it felt very peaceful, everyone was so friendly and all the facilities were brilliant. We just walked everywhere. Had a fabulous time!

Worth the travel to this place. Lanes are a little tight in places but camping is great. Very quiet with the backdrop of hills in the valley. I'm already planning to go next year. Good facilities and scenery too.

We arrived to a well organised campsite. It clearly attracts campers who are polite and respectful of other campers. Facilities are looked after and refreshed daily, plenty of hot water and conveniences etc. The campsite was fully booked when we arrived but it's layout meant it never seemed crowded. They have a notice board with your yellow ticket pegged as you come up the drive, this gives your plot number and directions in a map for the site. Location is great if you want to get away from it all. We had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend the campsite.

Things to do on site and in the Kingsbridge area
There is plenty of coastline to explore in the immediate vicinity, from the Kingsbridge Salcombe Estuary, past Prawle and Start Points and along to the beautiful beach at Beesands. Beaches are in plentiful supply.
Dartmouth and Totnes are also within easy reach, as is Dartmoor and Bigbury-on-Sea.
Woodlands Theme Park is a fun day out for kids, as is Paignton Zoo.
