Olchon Valley Campsite is settled just east of the England and Wales border, in the Black Mountains, with easy access to Offa's Dyke and Cat's Back ridge. There's plenty to explore in the surrounding area, ideal for an outdoor adventure, including cycling, hiking, and walking. Choose between spacious grass pitches and cosy furnished Yurts and railway wagons- whatever you need to complete the ideal stay.
This peaceful, family-friendly, welcoming site is nestled in the picturesque Olchon Valley, on the border between England and Wales. A short distance away, you'll find Cat's Back ridge and Offa's Dyke - ideal for exploring! With views and activities surrounding your stay, you'll find plenty to enjoy. Grass pitches are available for touring tents and small campervans, with easy access to the disabled friendly toilets, showers and washing-up facilities. BBQ/ firepits and picnic tables are provided. Furnished yurts and railway wagons are also available, complete with double bed, and nearby field kitchen, laundry and facilities. This site is accessible for those with reduced mobility, with access ramps linking areas of the site, disabled toilet and wheelchair-accessible wet room (with perching stool) for showering. This area is a haven for wildlife, with Red Kites and Buzzards filling the skies. The Olchon Brook that runs through the farm is the perfect place to play. The campsite is a mixture of wooded pasture and flower-filled meadow which is vibrant with butterflies, grasshoppers and other invertebrates throughout the summer. Perfect for nature explorers of all ages!

Arrival: Please come to Reception in the stone house on arrival.
Accessibility: There are ramps around the site to provide accessibility for those with reduced mobility, including wheelchair users. Please ensure you do not obstruct these access routes.
Noise: We are a remote rural site and our guests value the peace and quiet we offer. Please consider the wishes of other guests, particularly at night time.
Fire: Children must be closely supervised at all times when fires are lit in the wood burners or fire pits/ BBQs. A fire guard is provided in each yurt to ensure children do not have access to the woodburner. Please do not allow your children to pay with the tools please.
Onsite, there are communal BBQ/ fire pits, picnic tables and a pizza oven to enjoy. There is a well-stocked cupboard with games, puzzles and storybooks for children.
Nearby, Offa's Dyke and the Cat's Back Ridge offer stunning views and excellent walks.
The market towns of Hay on Wye, Talgarth, Abergavenny and Hereford are all close to the site, and great spots to explore. Hereford Cathedral is home to the world-renowned Mappa Mundi and Chained Library.
The River Wye also offers great canoeing and there are local farms offering horse riding and pony trekking.
There are some wonderful local pubs offering meals to suit all budgets, with some specialising in locally sourced produce. The village shop is a few minutes drive away and is well-stocked with all the essentials for camping.
There's plenty more to do in the surrounding area, including exploring the numerous local castles (Longtown, Grosmont, Skenfrith, White Castle, Goodrich and Raglan) dotted along the borderlands.
