A note from the site themselves...

We, Suzanne and David live on the farm and run Oxton Hill Hideaway. We love having visitors to share how lovely the area is and to explore the nearby countryside. Over the last 15 years has gradually moved away from farming to appreciate the countryside and to look after the 25 horses who live on the farm.

Woodlands have been planted and a stunning lake which boasts lots of ducks, wildlife and carp which guests are welcome to fish. We meet all our guests personally and love to help you enjoy your stay offering advice on the local area.

Shepherd's Hut - Pond View Shepherd's HutJun 2024

We stayed in Pond View. Loved seeing the moorhens, birds and chickens. Lovely hut. Had everything we needed. Well stocked kitchen. Lovely bed linen, and warm blankets for sitting outside at night. Fire pit plus marshmallows (and a glass of wine 🀣) went perfectly with the sound of the trees and the lovely fairy lights all around. Loved it πŸ‘πŸ» Great hosts David & Suzanne were really helpful and welcoming. Would highly recommend this for a peaceful retreat. Had a nice walk round the farm. Made friends with the chickens and waved at the horses. Can also recommend local pub Green Dragon for food πŸ‘πŸ»

Amazing!

Shepherd's Hut - Pond View Shepherd's HutFeb 2024

My friend and I had a wonderful stay. The huts were lovely and quaint! We really enjoyed the local pub & the surrounded area for walks. We played scrabble the night that it rained and thoroughly enjoyed the games that were provided. Thank you for having us! We would definitely return!

Shepherd's Hut - Pond View Shepherd's HutOct 2023

This was our first experience in a Shepherd's Hut and I would happily stay again. The hut was so well equipped and there were some nice thoughtful touches, like a jug of milk for our arrival. The log burner was amazing; we certainly weren't ever cold. My partner really enjoyed the fishing. This was an added bonus in the price we paid, which for the whole experience, was extremely good value for money. We can't wait to go again sometime.
