Pitches are on grass and suitable for tents and small campervans only (max 6 metres). Sorry, no caravans or motorhomes here. They are marked, allowing campers to choose which pitch they would like. The site welcomes everyone from backpackers to small campers. And, for large groups, the camping field can be hired for your gathering with an advanced booking. Well behaved dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead. Do note all under 21s must be accompanied by an adult.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2026

I needed a cheap base or the night before heading to watch the Brighton Marathon and Stud Farm fit that purpose. I was greeted by a member of staff upon arrival who took my name and advised which parts of the site might be slightly less windy. It turned out to be a windy night. Not sure if it's always windy on site but I get the impression it might be. I was surprised how many people were on the site for this time of year, but it did not feel at all cramped. Everyone was spaced out and quiet. The toilets were clean and modern. In the morning I used the shower, which was advertised as being basic and warm. My experience was there was little to no water pressure and it was ice cold. If I came again, I'd treat it as there being no showers there. All this was clearly advertised in the listing though, so I have no issue whatsoever. If you are looking for a cheap base for exploring the local area, I would highly recommend. I think after a few days I'd want a proper shower, but for one or two nights it's ideal.

Site's response

Thank you for your feedback, as we are on top of the downs and close to the sea it can get windy but not all the time, the pitches are 10mt x 10mt and spaced out and not to close to each other. As for the water pressure and showers, we do let the campers know that as we are on the Downs and close to the villages, the pressure can drop if the villages or other campers are using the water at the same time and we are making improvements to hopefully sort this problem out.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2026

We loved our week camping stay at Stud Farm. Site managers were helpful & friendly. Facilities were clean and worked well (showering & washing up outside of busy times, didn't test during busy times). We camped by the tree line and survived Storm Dave unscathed. But, do be aware it is windy. So don't be surprised! Gorgeous views of the sea and catches the morning, daytime and evening sun. 10/10 would visit again.

Site's response

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay and not let the weather spoil it for you. It's not always windy but been open to the elements can be a problem for some people but having the 360 views of the downs and the sea does make up for it. Hope to see you again, best regards - Hayley.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2025

Clean toilet and shower facilities. Fire pit was amazing and completed our night! It was a little annoying they squeezed another van in our allocated space with us, especially when there was plenty of space elsewhere as they blocked our view. Overall value for money :)

Site's response

Thank you for your feedback. All pitches are more than 10m x 10m which are very generous. I am wondering why you did not say anything to the wardens, if you felt that you didn't have enough space, as that's one of the things they are there for - I'm sure they would have helped to resolve your problem. Also some people tend to pitch behind the pitch post, which encroaches on two pitches instead of between the posts, not sure if this might have happened, which gives the impression of less space. We encourage that any issues be raised with the wardens on site as they can resolve 99.9% of any problems. I'm sorry if you felt that you couldn't approach the wardens.
