About The Glamping Coach at Bodiam Station

A family friendly restored railway carriage in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, watch the steam train pass by Bodiam Castle from your private decking. The carriage is from a British Railways Mark 1 coach and has been lovingly restored with soft furnishings to make you feel at home. Sleeping five, the carriage is ideal for a family getaway in the East Sussex countryside. The master bedroom has a double bed and ensuite for that extra bit of luxury! There is another bedroom with two single beds, a living area with a TV and sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen as well as an additional bathroom. All bedding is provided. The kitchen is fitted with an oven, induction hob and microwave so you can cook up a hearty meal for the family. For when the sun is setting, there is a private decking where you can take in the countryside views of former Guinness hop gardens and various vineyards whilst you cook your dinner on the BBQ, or sip your glass of wine from the deck chairs. Watch as the trains chug past on their way to Tenterden, you can even hop on and visit the 'Jewel of the Weald' for yourselves! With up to five trains a day, you can't miss it! Bodiam Castle is only a short walk away so why not explore the National Trust site and its heritage? Or wander the streets of Battle, Rye or Hastings, all close to the carriage. The private decking has a BBQ area, but sorry no campfires. Sorry, no pets or children under 12 as the site is too close to a working railway line.

The Glamping Coach at Bodiam Station is open from 01/03 to 31/10.

A note from the site themselves...

Don't feel you have to be a railway enthusiast to enjoy this quirky setting! Most of our guests arrive not holding any interest in steam railways but do seem to enjoy heritage, gardens, countryside, walks, good pubs and travel, all of which can be accessed from the Bodiam Coach.

We will leave you masses of information about visits and days out in the local area. If needed, we are on hand to offer advice or make suggestions as to how to spend your days. You can make your stay as quiet or as active as you wish!We hope to see you soon, Bryan and the team
