About the site

This charming shepherd's hut is situated on its own site, tucked away in a hidden corner of a working farm. Enjoy a relaxing getaway in this stunning part of Wales, perfect for exploring the coast, countryside and mountains. The Cwt Cyntaf shepherd's hut is the ideal romantic accommodation for two. Inside the hut is a cosy double bed with linen provided, an electric wood burner, USB charging sockets, and under bed storage. You will also have your own kitchen which is equipped with a fridge/freezer, breakfast bar, electric hob, kettle and utensils. Outside the shepherd's hut, you will also have all of your own private facilities. These include a toilet and shower block, fire pit, washing up area and seating. You can also spend your evenings relaxing under the stars in your own wood fired hot tub! If you're wanting to spend the day exploring, a 30 minute drive will take you to Snowdonia National Park. Or if you would rather have a relaxing day at the beach, Traeth Dinas Dinlle is just a 15 minute drive away. Please note that guests must be over 14 years of age. You can use the fire pit for both BBQs and campfires. Sorry, dogs are not allowed.

Me and a friend spent the bank holiday weekend here and had a great time. The host was very nice and accommodating, and the site itself was well maintained and the facilities were excellent, and we had chickens, sheep and kittens come to visit us while staying there. There are lots of things to do nearby. Some really nice beaches, an aquarium, hikes and nice walks as well. Some constructive feedback could be that it would have been nice if the hot tub had been pre warmed before we got there, and the BBQ could do with a bit of a clean, but apart from that excellent!

Things to do on site and in the Caernarfon area

This is the perfect location for exploring all that North Wales has to offer. Snowdonia National Park is just 30 minutes away and is a must-see, especially if you have never been to the area before. Whether it is walking, cycling or even horseback riding this is the perfect place to adventure and explore nature.

If you're wanting to see the stunning landscapes in a more leisurely way, the Llanberis Lake Railway is the perfect way to do it. Sit back and relax on a steam train as you journey through breathtaking landscapes, taking you past rivers, lakes and mountains.

You can also enjoy spending a day relaxing on one of the many nearby beaches. Take a dip in the blue waters, or simply sit back and read your book. Local beaches include Traeth Dinas Dinlle (15 minutes), Colwyn Bay (35 minutes) and Rhos-on-Sea (35 minutes).

For those wanting to discover the area's extensive history, there is also plenty of places to visit. Caernarfon Castle dates back to the Middle Ages and is just a five minute drive away on the banks of the River Seiont. Here you can enjoy a fascinating tour and stunning views over the harbour.

A visit to the National Slate Museum (20 minutes) will educate you on the long history between the slate industry and the Welsh people. Enjoy workshops and talks, along with demonstrations and exhibitions.
