Oh my... never been camping aside from festivals so this was all new to me but what an absolute gem! Site was small, on a hill and simple but owner was lovely (Louise). And the location... Location location location. It was a stunning area to explore. Unspoilt and so lovely that I'm reluctant to share... Go, you won't be disappointed!!!

Great little find. Small, rural, quiet and very pretty. Lovely walks directly from the site. Two pubs within walking distance and a couple more - a longer but still enjoyable walk. All served great food. Host was lovely, very helpful and friendly. Facilities were basic but perfectly clean and usable with plenty of hot water. Would recommend!

A perfect campsite if you're looking for a quiet, back to basics escape. We also enjoyed a walk on the bridlepath through glorious ancient woodlands to the pub in the nearby village of Trellech.

We had a great stay at Highlands Farm Camping the other weekend. We didn't have to drive anywhere, as there were beautiful walks from the site. Louise and her family couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Our camping neighbours' car had broken down on arrival and we saw how Louise and her husband helped them to get it sorted out with their local mechanic. Couldn't recommend it more and would definitely go back again.

We had a great two night stay in this small but lovely campsite. It's a great location for visiting the Wye and there are two pubs very close by for lovely food and great walks. We were able to have real fires which was very much needed in April. Would definitely return.

Lovely site... the field, water, hot showers, loos and chemical waste disposal, plus a fabulous walk to the pub that sells real cider through ancient woodland. Loads of wood anemones, brimstone butterflies, owls hooting and camp fires. Picnic tables and wonderful owners.

Middle aged couple with 9 year old girl and a retriever in a 7.5m motorhome. We found the hosts really friendly and the site very quiet. There was a rope swing for our daughter and ancient woods for the dog 150 yards up the road. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely peaceful campsite. Would definitely recommend if you want to get away for the weekend without TV & mobile phone or any disturbances. The owners were friendly & lovely.

If you want peace and quiet and a bit of almost-wild camping, then this field is for you. Very natural. We booked the only hardstanding which we thought would provide some space from the mud but unfortunately it was overgrown to be more like a grass hard standing, but you had to walk across the grass for the water so not really an issue. Patrons were friendly. Firewood was £5 a bag but you would need 2-3 bags for a full evening, great it you are chipping in with others though. Very out of the way, plenty of woods and forests for walking and some spectacular views.

The location is amazingly beautiful and peaceful. Lovely walks from the site. A beautiful honesty box down the road with gorgeous cakes and bread to buy. Forest walks, waterfall, hills, windy paths down hills. Open fires. Will come again.

Most of the site is sloping. We got charged 2 full pitches for 2 small tents with 1 person in each which felt expensive as campervans and full size tents took more space. Good clean bathroom unit with hot water shower. Really friendly atmosphere sitting around the campfire, but can get a bit loud with enthusiastic talkers late on. Very friendly owners and provide lots of useful information and wood & eggs etc. Idyllic location. Definitely recommend if you are happy to mix a bit with others. A bit of a scout camp vibe.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, and our friendly atmosphere and lovely location. I was surprised you wrote that you had to pay for 2 full pitches, as you may remember I gave you a 50% discount on the second tent pitch fee, in consideration of the fact that they were small tents. You may have seen large tents taking up more space but we do charge a large pitch supplement, to keep our pricing fair to all campers. Hope to see you again next season.
