About the site


Pit stop and soak up the Yorkshire countryside at this peaceful, adult only campsite. You're perfectly placed for exploring York City, just a 25 minute drive away, or if you're feeling adventurous, take on a hike through the North York Moors National Park, just 40 minutes from the site. Onsite, choose from non electric (5m x 5m) and electric grass pitches (6m x 6m), suitable for tents, trailer tents, caravans, campervans, motorhomes, and roof tents. For a cosier option, there's a trekking pod ready tent (2.4m x 1.2m) with two camping mats and a picnic table outside, just bring your own camping gear (minus the tent). There are also six camping pods (3.5m x 2.3m), each featuring a double bed, heating, gas, electric, a TV, a DVD player, and a small seating area. The fully equipped bell tents (5m x 5m) include a king size bed, heating, gas, electric, a TV, a cool box, a kettle, WiFi, and power sockets. Bedding and towels are provided. Within a five minute drive, grab a hearty meal and a refreshing drink at the local pub, The Boot and Slipper. The site is a great spot for cyclists completing the Way of the Roses Cycle route! Up to two dogs are welcome onsite, please make sure they're kept on a lead. BBQs are permitted, but open fires are not.

Camping and touring is open until mid September, bell tents and ready tents are open until October while the camping pods are open all year round.

Onsite, there is a facility block with toilets, showers and underfloor heating. You will also find washing up area with a communal fridge, freezer, microwave, and sink area.

The Boot and Slipper is a five minute drive from the site serving a range of hot meals and cold beverages. Within a five minute drive you will also find an Aldi, Londis, I Love Zero, and a Co-op Food.

Check-in is available from 2pm until 7pm. Please advise the site if you are delayed. Departure is due on your last day before 11am for camping and 10:30pm for glamping.

Yes! Up to two dogs are welcome to join your stay. Please make sure they are kept on a lead and supervised.

Open fires are not permitted. BBQs are allowed if raised off the ground. If you are using a disposable BBQ, please use the stands provided.

Closer to the site, enjoy a peaceful afternoon at Burnby Hall Gardens, just five minutes away. Stroll around lily-filled ponds, relax in the landscaped gardens, and stop by the onsite cafe for a drink or snack.

A must-see is the National Railway Museum in York (30 minutes), home to a fascinating collection of trains, engines, and interactive exhibitions.
