About the site

Tucked away on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, this is a family-run glamping retreat with amazing views. Set on a working dairy farm, the site is home to a small collection of handcrafted cedar-clad pods, each designed for cosy stays all year round. The site is home to a total of five pods, three with ensuite shower rooms with an enclosed shower, toilet, basin and heated towel rail. The other two pods have a private shower room a few steps away with an electric shower, toilet, basin and heated towel rail, along with key code access. A hairdryer, two bath towels and hand towels are provided for each. The pods sleep up to four, with a double bed with a pocket-sprung mattress and luxury goose feather and down bedding, along with a double sofa bed with bedding (only when booked for more than two people). For cooking, you will have a kitchenette with a hob, hot water, fridge (with ice box), microwave, kettle, toaster and Tassimo coffee maker. Crockery, cutlery, glasses, plastic glasses, frying pan, saucepan, knives, bottle opener and corkscrew, tin opener, wooden spoon, spatulas, tongs, whisk, chopping boards, a non-slip tray and eco-friendly cleaning products are provided. To keep you cosy all year round, there is free WiFi, a Smart TV with Netflix, heating, LED lighting, power and USB sockets, secure double glazing and blackout curtains and blinds, along with a dining table for meals together. Step outside, and you will find your private patio and decking. Each has a hot tub with jets and LED lighting, an outdoor dining table and chairs, two string chairs, and a cocoon swing seat with padded cushions. You can also cook up dinner over the cast iron fire bowl for use as a fire pit or BBQ with a poker and grill. The Hub is an all-weather space where guests can come together to cook, chat, and soak up the relaxed atmosphere. You'll find The Cooking Station, an outdoor kitchen under cover, complete with a Gozney pizza oven, gas BBQ, a spacious prep area, an old butler's sink and copper taps, while a large dining table and chairs mean you can tuck into your creations in comfort, come rain or shine. Just a few steps away is The Chocolate Bar, a hot drink station that's always stocked with complimentary goodies. You'll find hot chocolate, Horlicks, and a variety of herbal teas, alongside sweet treats like chocolate fingers or mini marshmallows to make your mug even more indulgent. The Hub is also home to a crackling fire pit for cooler nights, twinkling lights, a handy log store, and even swings that face out over the Yorkshire hills, ideal for stargazing or just soaking in the peace. The site is sustainably run with solar panels, wind power, and a genuine love for the landscape. Perfect for romantic escapes, chilled-out celebrations, or just a few days of switch-off time. Please note, the site is pet free.

Peaks and Pods is open from 17/05 to 18/12 in 2025 and from 01/01 to 20/12 in 2026.

A note from the site themselves...

Peaks and Pods is more than a glamping site, it's home. Boustagill Farm has been part of our family for decades. John moved here when he was just two years old (his mum still laughs about him collecting eggs in nothing but red wellies), and it's where we began our life together after meeting in a local pub quiz.

We've raised our three daughters here, in a childhood shaped by open fields, frogspawn, treehouses, and starlit skies. As our girls grew up, we realised just how lucky we were to live somewhere so peaceful, with views that stop you in your tracks and space to breathe. We wanted to share a little bit of that magic.

Creating Peaks and Pods became our way of welcoming others into the landscape we love, without giving up the comforts we've always valued ourselves. It all started with a dream - warm, stylish, handcrafted pods that could be enjoyed in every season (Yorkshire weather included!).

From there, we built something personal. Every pod and every detail has been shaped with care to help guests feel instantly at home. We're proud that guests can build a stay that suits them. This land means the world to us, and we hope it means something to you too, if only for a few unforgettable days. John and Joanne

Things to do on site and in the Settle area

Settle is located a 15 minute drive from the site. Its cobbled streets are lined with independent shops, plus there is the quirky Gallery on the Green. The Tuesday market is a lively tradition, while the monthly Farmers' Market is great for local produce.

The riverside village of Stainforth (20 minutes) is a peaceful spot with the star attraction being Stainforth Force, a wide cascade waterfall where you might catch sight of salmon leaping upstream in Autumn. At the heart of Stainforth sits a charming 17th-century packhorse bridge, arching over the river.

The limestone landscapes of Malham are 30 minutes away, one of the most scenic spots in the Dales. Towering above the village is Malham Cove, an 80m high curved cliff formed by ancient waterfalls. Climb the iconic stone steps to the top for sweeping views and walk across the limestone pavement made famous by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Nearby, the dramatic gorge of Gordale Scar (35 minutes) is hidden away in a lush valley with sheer rock walls and a rushing waterfall. Just a short stroll through the woods brings you to Janet's Foss, a fairytale waterfall named after a local fairy queen.

The lovely village of Clapham (20 minutes) is nestled beneath the slopes of Ingleborough. The Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail takes you on a scenic walk through woodlands, over bridges, and past lakes, eventually leading to the Ingleborough Cave. If you're feeling adventurous, continue past the historic tunnels to the legendary Gaping Gill, one of the largest underground chambers in Britain.

If you're visiting in the warmer months, the outdoor pool in Ingleton (25 minutes) is a real treat, a heated 20m lido by the river that's perfect for a refreshing swim. The climbing centre offers indoor challenges for all levels, while the village itself boasts independent shops, cafés, and traditional pubs.

Other nearby attractions include:

  • Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway - Bolton Abbey Station (30 minutes)
  • Ribblehead Viaduct (30 minutes)
  • Bowland Wild Boar Park (35 minutes)
  • Kilnsey Park (35 minutes)
  • Ripley Castle (55 minutes)
