About the site

Enjoy amazing views of the surrounding mountains and scenic landscapes, with the Afon Glaslyn passing through the site too. There are a range of walking routes leading directly from the site through the Snowdonia landscapes, with the start of the Watkin Path up Snowdon a 55 minute walk or five minute drive away. There are a great range of pitches on offer, with something for every camper! Guests can choose from grass, hardstanding or a mixture of the two. Some pitches have the added luxury of a 10 amp electric hook up and water hook up too. The site accepts backpacker tents, tents, trailer tents, campervans and motorhomes. Pitches range from 6m x 2m for backpackers, all the way up to 10m x 6m for both grass and hardstandings. There is a maximum of four guests per pitch. A river runs along the site where guests can have a go at wild swimming, a great way to cool off after a long hike up Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa). Beddgelert village is a ten minute walk away where you can explore independent shops, tasty eateries and the Beddgelert Welsh Highland Railway. Campfires in raised fire pits are permitted, and these can also be hired from reception during office opening hours (9:30am to 5pm). Raised BBQs are also permitted, but campfires and BBQs should not scorch the grass. The site is dog friendly, with up to two dogs permitted per pitch and there is a riverside walk that goes around the site, great for stretching their legs. Please note, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Cae Du is a place to relax and unwind so there is a strict rule of music to be low at all times and turned off at 9:30pm with any other noise to be kept to a minimum after this time.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

We came to Wales to climb Snowdon & to explore the locality. We were a group of 12, 3 vans + 4 tents. Cae du staff were really accommodating and put us all together despite us booking individually. We had grass pitches with electric hook up. The pitches were level so it was an easy set up. There is no signal around the area so the camp wifi was a godsend. The facilities were clean & well kept, the hot water was a perfect temp. We could not of asked for anything to have made our stay any better. We all had a fantastic time. We would definitely recommend.

Even in the rain, a great site

The staff are always pleasant, and the location simply divine. Great (free) showers and good facilities overall. All the pitches are good and fellow camp users considerate and pleasant.
