About the site

Off the York ring road in North Yorkshire, Wagtail Park is an idyllic family-run site with an onsite fishing lake. It's the ideal location with only a ten minute drive to the historic city of York. Set in ten acres of parkland and overlooking the fishing lake, campers and tourers have access to level grass and hardstanding pitches. Optional electric available. Note the ground can be hard, so rock pegs are recommended. If you'd prefer, you can also go hassle-free in four camping pods which offer excellent protection from the elements, heating and electricity inside. Please note, there is no underfloor heating. Tail wagging friends are welcome at Wagtail as long as you're camping and there are fantastic dog walks around the site. They cannot stay in the pods.

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Grass Touring PitchesApr 2025

Pete contacted us prior to arrival to confirm and help with directions and access code to secure gate. Really helpful and friendly throughout our stay, a font of knowledge about the local area and city. Short drive to shopping and York park and ride. Facilities are kept to a good standard, well stocked and clean. Good washing up area and recycling/rubbish setup with dog waste bins separately around the site. We had our dog with us and there was plenty of space and places to walk (on lead only). Lots of interesting lights and even a fairy garden which our daughter loved. There is a fishing lake too but we didn't fish so can't comment but there were quite a few proper anglers there so must be good. A massive bonus was the owls, there is currently has an owl rescue 'owl and about' on site run by an amazing and dedicated guy. If it hadn't of been lambing season it might of been our daughters highlight of the whole trip! All in value for money was great and will definitely stay again.

Motorhome - Hardstanding Grass Touring PitchesFeb 2025

My only concern is that we couldn't get our Wi-Fi reception. However, we could get 5g so everything was fine. It is a well laid out site and friendly.
