About Ruthern Valley Holidays
Ideally located in the heart of north Cornwall, this family friendly site is an ideal base for exploring all this picturesque part of the UK has to offer. Within 30 minutes of both coastlines, and just 20 minutes from the famous Eden Project, it will be hard to pick where to go for your next day trip! The site wants to ensure everyone can unwind as much as possible, so instead of uniform rows, there are just 18 spaces, spread over four camping areas. Six of the grass pitches come without electric, these are for tents only measuring a spacious 7m x 5m and allowing up to six guests. For those wanting an electric hook up, there are a further six grass pitches which come with a 10 amp hook up. These are a generous 10m x 10m, set on a slightly sloping part of the site with tents, trailer tents and caravans with up to five guests welcome. There are also hardstanding pitches, each with an electric hook up. These pitches allow trailer tents and tourers, with the choice of grass and hardstanding, either 7m x 6m with 6 amp or 10m x 8m with 10 amp, along with simple 10m x 6m hardstanding pitches with 10 amp. Your base is also a haven for wildlife that will be perfect for nature lovers. It's true woodland camping in a rural space - with secluded pitches. For glampers, there are a great range of camping and glamping pods that offer warmth, a brilliantly hassle-free stay and even the option to have an ensuite. There are two simple camping pods, each allowing up to two adults and two children. These are simple wooden structures where you have to bring everything but the tent. One also includes electric! If you want to pack a little lighter, opt for one of the four glamping Wigwam pods that allow up to five guests. These include memory foam mattresses on benches that become seating, a fridge, kettle, microwave, electric heating and free WiFi. There are also two ensuite glamping pods that offer a slice of luxury. Inside you will have underfloor heating, along with a lounge area, a proper double bed, a sofa bed for two, WiFi and a TV. For cooking, there is a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, microwave and kettle, along with a dining table. Your ensuite will include just a loo, with shared showers nearby. Outside both the Wigwams and ensuite pods you will also have a deck area with a picnic table, great for al fresco dining. Please note, bedding and linen are not provided. If you want to enjoy a spot of cooking, BBQs are welcome, just please ensure they are raised from the ground. Open fires are prohibited. This is a pet free site, so dogs are not allowed, sorry.

Site facilities include a shower and toilet block with solar and gas hot water, plus a washing up area and well equipped laundry area. There is a site shop that is fully stocked with camping gas, blow-up beds, bike tools and all the essentials that you need, and there is a play area for kids.
There are also multiple pubs a ten minute drive away, including the Welcome Stranger and Borough Arms, Bodmin. A Spar is also a ten minute drive away.

Hard to fault this beautiful site deep in the Cornish countryside. Reception were very helpful, services were very comprehensive, and immaculately clean. Will definitely return in the future.

We spent 6 months converting a Renault Traffic ambulance into a campervan, and this stay was our first overnight stay in the van. Having arrived at the site in the dark, we found the owners really friendly and welcoming, and they had left a note to show us where our pitch was, in case we missed them. Our pitch was lovely, private and amongst trees, and very spacious. The toilet block was quite close. In the morning we were able to see what a lovely site it was. Highly recommended.

Things to do on site and in the Bodmin area
The site is brilliantly central to all Cornwall has to offer. The famous Camel Trail is just a five minute ride and so you can easily cycle to top attractions like the Camel Valley Vineyard, Grogley Woods and historic Bodmin Gaol.
A visit to the famous Eden Project (20 minutes) is a must. The unique, eco attractions is home to giant geodesic domes, set in a reclaimed china clay pit. Be transported to different contents, with a huge range of exotic plantlife to see.
You will also be within 30 minutes of both the north and south Cornwall coastlines. The charming seaside town of Padstow (30 minutes) is home to many famous fish restaurants, with a charming fishing harbour and boat trips on offer!
