About Thirlspot Farm Camping
This calm and relaxing site can be found at the foot of Helvellyn, nestled between Keswick and Grasmere. The beautiful waters of Thirlmere aren't too far away, and a great spot for exploring. Grass pitches are available without electric, and grass and hardstanding pitches with electric included are available for caravans, campervans and motorhomes. Surrounded by stunning views of the Lake District, with plenty of trails to explore, it's easy to immerse yourself in the surrounding nature. Take the path from the site and find the wild natural infinity pool where you can swim overlooking the spectacular mountains and valleys, a truly breathtaking experience! Dogs are welcome and with there being so many idyllic hikes nearby, this is a great choice for dog walkers.

Great little site at the foot of Helvellyn, across the road from Thirlmere reservoir, and next door to the Kings Head pub. Cracking little spot. Good facilities on site, great connections to walks straight from the site. Bus stops bang out front to Keswick or down to Grasmere. The kings head has great beers, awesome Guinness and outstanding food. My only slight grumble (and it is slight) was the hard standing I booked wasn’t fully hard standing, and being at the foot of hills in the lakes, the grass pitch to the side was really boggy. We still managed to get the awning on it, but had quite a clean up mission before packing up. In short a great site, well located, great facilities and would definitely revisit.

Things to do on site and in the Keswick area
The site is well placed for hiking, fell walking, and more at Helvellyn, Skiddaw and Blencathra. Grab your walking boots and hike up Sticks Pass directly from the site to admire stunning waterfalls
For a magical experience, follow the path from the site to a hidden natural infinity pool. Enjoy wild swimming with views over the neighbouring mountains and valleys, a must when staying on site.
If you're wanting to see something a bit different, head to Puzzling Place (10 minutes) and enjoy a world of optical illusions and holograms, it is a great photo opportunity. Or, head to Derwent Pencil Museum (10 minutes) and see the fascinating history of the everyday object.
You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to National Trust sites. Head to Townend (30 minutes) and see the historic farm with 400 years of family tales. Find Wray Castle 30 minutes away, a neo-gothic castle where you can enjoy the photographs of Rupert Potter, paddling in the lake or taking a boat trip to the castle's jetty.
