All the basics (shower, toilets, electric) are there. Best suited for campers and motorhomes. Convenient place next to a pub for food and Wi-Fi. Walks are great, as is the landscape. Don't expect too much luxury. Decent price. Bus stop in front of the campsite with frequent connections to Keswick and Windermere.
Lovely stay as always

This is a very basic site with a small number of pitches. However, it is always a lovely place to stay. The people that stay there always seem to be very respectful and the owners are helpful. It is conveniently positioned right next to a pub which serves nice food and drinks with a large outdoor seating area, great for sunny days. It is a short drive to many good walks and is also a short drive to Keswick town centre. I have no reason to look at any other sites when going to the lakes, as we always have the most pleasant of stays at Thirlspot Farm. The only thing to note is that the site is just off a fairly busy road, so you can expect some road noise in the morning, but this is not enough by any means to prevent me from returning.

Good value for the price. There is a good pub next door, so no need to drive. It’s next to a busy road, but there is very little traffic between 11 on and 7 AM. Good access to the NW lakes.
Good break

Friendly farmer, good pub/restaurant next door, good bus service that stops outside gate. Noisy road close by, but does quieten off in evening.
Great spot with good facilities and friendly hosts

Great little site at the foot of Helvellyn, across the road from Thirlmere reservoir, and next door to the Kings Head pub. Cracking little spot. Good facilities on site, great connections to walks straight from the site. Bus stops bang out front to Keswick or down to Grasmere. The kings head has great beers, awesome Guinness and outstanding food. My only slight grumble (and it is slight) was the hard standing I booked wasn't fully hard standing, and being at the foot of hills in the lakes, the grass pitch to the side was really boggy. We still managed to get the awning on it, but had quite a clean up mission before packing up. In short a great site, well located, great facilities and would definitely revisit.
Grand little spot!

Quiet and beautiful spot by Thirlmere and within walking distance of Helvellyn, or a long stroll to Keswick.

Booked a hardstanding pitch, with no electric for 2 nights. The toilets were clean, with 2 showers in the female block and very warm water. Although it was very close to the road, I did not hear the traffic at night. The pub next door is very welcoming and serves good food. There's a bus stop outside the campsite where you can get to Keswick and Ambleside and the buses were very clean.

Beautiful caravan park with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Lots of reviews complaining about the busy road. There is a stream and a fence with trees which separated the road from the caravan park, and though you can hear traffic during the day, by night-time, the road is quiet. Toilets and showers were spotless. The owner was very friendly and helped us to pull our caravan onto the pitch. This is a beautiful location with valleys and mountains to be seen from the comfort of your caravan. If you venture up the hills, you can see the beautiful lake. Will definitely be back here again.

Great price and great location. Sat-Nav does take you to the farm next door initially, so watch for the Thirlspot Farm name on white sign. Showers are in an old farm building and everything was clean. I'd only add that hooks by the sinks would be handy for wash bags to go on. Pub next door did an excellent dinner. Can use their Wi-Fi before heading back to camp for the night Owner recommended a lovely walk too. Road noise that others complained of didn't bother me at all - it's not the M25.

Good location with an amazing walk up to the waterfall. Although the site is next to a main road, the noise is not too bad and there is a bus stop right outside to all the local villages. Remember to reserve a table if you want to eat in the pub! No cellular signal whatsoever! Wi-Fi in the hotel/pub.
Good site, great position for hiking

Great site, amazing scenery all around you. The road is busy but quietens down later on. Plenty of hiking all around you without having to drive anywhere. Great pub serving excellent food right next door (no noise from pub). Only 2 showers and 3 toilets for ladies, but it seemed to work fine when we were there. Definitely will stay again.

A nice clean campsite with facilities as advertised. Toilets and shower areas were clean and well maintained. We were greeted by the owner who was kind and helpful. The location only has the one pub next door within walking distance (which we didn't use). However, there are some lovely paths to go on walks nearby and access to the Thirlmere infinity pool (a gorgeous spot and well worth a visit). Our only downside about this location was that it is beside a busy main road. We always both wear earplugs but through this. It did wake us up numerous times in the night. However, the second night we stayed, we kept the pop top down (which helped) so got a better night's sleep.

Fantastic location and views. Toilet and showers clean and in a quirky barn. Pub through gate next door serves fantastic food. Only downside is busy noisy road in front, used until late at night. There was a fast flowing noisy stream - remember to take earplugs and it's a fantastic site.

Lovely location for a short stay if you're wanting to explore & go on some beautiful walks. There is no hot water to wash your pots & very basic washrooms. Sadly, the hosts let this place down, we asked to park our small van in their car park for 2 hours or even on the side of the field, while we went for a walk but the man just straight up said "no" and didn't offer us any alternatives or recommendations, just what we felt was a very rude 'no'. Thankfully, the lovely man next door at the pub offered us parking all day and the service there is great compared!

Friendly welcome, stunning views and great walking directly from the site. Despite a slightly noisy road, we extended our stay by a further 2 to the 3 we had booked. The pub next door does great food, but a little expensive. A great site and I have already recommended to friends.

I feel a little harsh writing this in respect to the owners who seemed nice enough. The term 'you get what you pay for' is relevant in regards to being cheap and cheerful, but the A road is literally a few metres from the pitches, resulting in a very noisy stay. That's not what I was looking for in the ambient Lake District. .

Pluses - Great location for Helvellyn walk, the infinity pool and Keswick and is right next to a pub with Wi-Fi. Minuses - Right next to a noisy road which is busy most of the day. Unable to relax due to that. No signal or Wi-Fi for keeping in touch. Showers have no room for different heights as the heads are fixed and at 1 temperature. Good for 1 or 2 night stop to use for the area.
