Nice site near Thirlmere with views towards Helvellyn. Fairly clean shower block with plentiful hot water. The site is right by the A591 between Keswick and Ambleside, which is pretty busy during the day but was quite quiet overnight while we were there. Nice pub right next door - didn't eat there but we can vouch for the beer, wine and wifi.

Friendly helpful owner, Nice quiet site although next to road, which didn't bother us. Fairly basic but clean facilities, my only comment would be maybe a small stool in shower as I have some mobility problems and need to sit down to put shoes on etc.

Great little site on a really friendly working farm. Facilities were immaculately clean. Nicely located to go North or South on the main road between Keswick and Ambleside. Nice pub next door but unfortunately staffing issues meant no food without pre-booking. Beer was good though. Incredible views and access to fell walks from the site. Thoroughly recommend a few nights at this site.

Absolutely loved staying here and most certainly will be coming back again. We came and stayed in our motorhome and it was just perfect, waking up to the views of the hills and mountains will be missed! Driving to the campsite was easy and it had great access; other people mentioned the road, however, you don't even notice it and during the night it's so silent you can even hear the stream trickling away. The pub next door meant we could eat out a couple of times during the week with no worry of driving. There's a bus stop right outside which enabled us to go into the local town and explore the lakes there. It only cost £18 for two day passes! Our favourite part was the amount of different walks that we could do with the dog, without even driving anywhere. So many beautiful spots that you could walk to straight from the campsite. I can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for a quiet, remote, self-catering campsite.

Paid for hardstanding which was lacking 80% of the hard standing, so in mud! Toilets were fine. Hot showers. Location was good but noisy from 06:00am to midnight. Didn't cause us a problem but don't expect to lounge in bed! Pub was good but didn't eat there.

The most amazing place to pitch up! The views are spectacular and in easy reach of amazing walks and Thirlmere Lake. Great having the pub next door, great food and welcoming staff! The site itself is basic, but clean and excellent value for money.

Nice little site, facilities basic but adequate. Next to a very busy road unfortunately but also next to a lovely pub. Fabulous walk to waterfalls straight from the site and handy for bus stop into Keswick. Supposed to be an adult only site but there were children on site, which didn't bother us.

Great location for both Ambleside and Keswick. Site was quiet and friendly. Facilities were basic, but all working and clean. The pub next door was also friendly, welcoming and serving tasty food. Only negative (which can't be helped) was the poor phone signal which made planning hikes slightly difficult (but the pub has Wi-Fi!).

Was welcomed by Steve the owner who even took the time to take us on a bike ride around Thirlmere once we had set up that evening. During our stay, he checked in to see if we were ok and nothing was too much trouble! Facilities were good, including clean toilets and showers, washing up station, waste and rubbish disposal. Plus many pitches including ours seem to have electric hookup! Whilst there is very little mobile signal in the area, there is an excellent pub/hotel next door which has good fast Wifi, both inside and out. Would also recommend popping in the evening there for a beer or food. Highly recommended! The location is actually perfect if you plan to visit Windermere, Keswick, Buttermere or even Ullswater (as we did all of these areas during our visit). Would definitely go back again.

Fantastic campsite in a great location, ten minutes from Keswick. Good facilities, all clean and well appointed. Pitches are set in a lovely location by a stream with picturesque views. Owner was very friendly and recommended a bike route from the site into Keswick. Will definitely be back.

Booked the site on a whim as being in the middle of a heatwave access to a shower sounded ideal. We enjoyed the stop so much we booked again for two days later! Being close to the road was a concern though and although the road is busy in the day, it's nice and quiet at night. The site has the mix of facilities and pitches just right and suits a camper van great! You're getting great value for money and a good, clean site with a fantastic pub next door - although if you're eating it's worth booking! Definitely appreciate the quiet after 10pm ruling too. After a day climbing in the fells in 30 degree plus temperatures a nice peaceful night was just what we ordered and exactly what we got.

A fantastic - but basic - campsite! Would absolutely recommend. Great value for money. A wonderful location and close to everything we planned to do. We stayed for 3 nights in our van, with a side awning, with our dog. We had access to toilets, showers, washing up and rubbish facilities. The farmer was brilliant. Really welcoming and happy to stop and have a chat about the local area and where we had been that day etc. Its a very peaceful location and I wouldn't let the fact that it's by a main road put you off! As we headed into the evening any noise dissipated and we were just surrounded by sheep, mountains and the sound of the nearby stream. It was perfect. We will return there on our next visit!

Campsite was clean and tidy, shower, toilets and wash basin available on site. Easy access to Keswick via car or there is bus stop just outside campsite. Would recommend for anyone looking for camper van site in the North Lake District area.
