On a main road but great location for convenience. Could barely hear the road once I was in my vehicle. Only 10 minute drive from Keswick, all one road so very easy. Facilities were well kept and people were very nice. Views the other side to the road were amazing as well. EHU had no problems either. Great place.

Basic facilities, but great for access to mountains and waterfalls. Small and quiet, ideal for couples. Great pub next door.

Good little site. Owner pleasant and helpful. Facilities good. Beautiful views of the mountains all around. Bus route to Keswick very handy. Site is at the side of a main road but is quiet at night so not a problem. The hotel next door is closed after 9pm as it is then for residents of the hotel only.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The owner was helpful, the parking is level, and it's not too crowded being a small site. The showers are super hot, the toilets are clean, and it's a good location for hiking Helvellyn (we drove ten miles to Glenridding, but you can hike from the campsite). Excellent value for money. The main road can be busy, but it didn't bother us and it's quiet at night. Will definitely stay again.

This site is very basic and cheap. Adjacent road was rather noisy, but had read about it in previous comments. Additional signage would be advantageous as turning off a main road could easily end up in the farmyard. Signage for grey water and chemical toilet would also be handy, although other campers directed me. Pub in opposite side of farm driveway very handy and serves traditional good food.

Small well equipped site, clean and tidy with an abundance of freshwater taps. Close to Keswick and handy for the general Lakes areas. Only downside was the proximity to a main road with subsequent traffic noise, but it was ok in the evening. Nice pub on the doorstep.

Pitch uneven & holes. Great spot, tv arial socket would be good as there was no signal. Excellent walks nearby and there was a great pub on the door step.
Site's response
Our Campsites entry does mention under Facilities & Amenities: 'Please note mobile and TV signal may be weak or non existent on the site. There is no Wi-Fi." For our prices and the scenic location, we won't be installing such facilities and we are a place to enjoy the countryside.

Great site, everything you need in a great location. Only jibe is the traffic can be loud early in the morning, but it did not put us off.

Great location for a trek to the infinity pool and Thirlmere Lake. Pub right next door serving lovely food but felt it was a bit pricey.

Great little campsite, (although it is right next to the main road - which shouldn't deter people from using it). The site is great value for money, the toilets are showers do the job and we found the campsite owners friendly and helpful. The site itself is in a great location, about six miles from Keswick. There's a bus service that runs every half hour (during the summer months and it's not expensive). There's also a pub/hotel next to the campsite, which is an added bonus, and plenty of walks around the site area - Helvelan being just a few miles away. Overall a great campsite, would definitely recommend this to anyone 👍

Lovely park, ideally located with a lovely pub next door. Only real issue was a busy road near and the lack of mobile phone service and WIFI. The pub had guest WIFI though, which was useful.

Nice flat area and great location for Hellvelyn. Pub next door does great food. Facilities are good but showers a bit cramped and had to duck if taller than 6ft🤣. Road noisy in day but didn't hear anything at night. Would recommend and return 😊

Will definitely return. Bus stop a few steps away from the entrance. Value for money site, level and accessible even with a 8-metre motorhome. Showers were hot and clean.

Small (or as I prefer to say, intimate) easy to find and has all the facilities you need. This campsite is a great find. It's very easy to find and get to, being just of the main Keswick road (A591). Not many pitches so great if you want a quiet site to just camp and not have lots of activity going on around, perfect for solo or a couples get away. Showers and toilet facilities were clean, tidy and well lit. The pub next door (Kings Head Inn) serves good food and a selection of local beers. Poor mobile signal, but that's the Lakes for you. The Kings Head have WiFi if you're popping in for a pint or a bite to eat. Will visit again.

Great spot. We walked up to the Thirlmere Infinity Pool from the site with great views. Clean facilities and pub right next door.

Good location just outside of Keswick, great views and nice pub literally next door. Bit too close to a main road for me, but quietens down at night. Basic but clean facilities. Would probably try somewhere else on next visit.
Fair site except the road noise

On arrival, the first impression was good but after the first night, we made up our minds to cut our stay short due to the nonstop early day road noise. The site itself could do with a few signs to note the location of the facilities.
Site's response
Our site is in a good spot for walking and cycling straight from your pitch and/or bus or road trips directly North toward Keswick and South to Ambleside. We are situated alongside a road, which of course will get traffic at times. We do however have many stay with us and return yearly. Our site pictures show our location for people to consider before booking.

Pitches need some upkeep - very wet ground around them & need more gravel. Nice though to have water on constant tap & electric. No service for mobiles or TV. Need better signage for the directions into site because if you end up in the farmyard, it is very difficult to get back down!
Site's response
We like to think people will think before or driving up a slim road without knowing how they will manoeuvre backwards. If in doubt, please just park and ask. We'll be glad to come out and guide you.

The site was perfect for us as we like to walk from where we stay and not have to drive. From the site, we climbed Hellvelyn and went for a dip in the wonderful infinity pool overlooking Thirlmere. Great value for money and a lovely pub right next door.
